If you came off of a Challenger LTD or DH would you go with a Pursuit standard or would you want the Lean Angle Tech and start with the Premium package to get that feature? One thing they did help me make my mind on was the tour box. Was on the fence on whether to get an OEM box with locking capabilities or an aftermarket box for my Challenger. The electronic locking OEM is cool but way more expensive than the aftermarket boxes. With the Pursuit being added, I don't think it would be worth it to put the Indian box on the Challenger now. That's a lot of coin for something that will not add value to the bike, especially now. Thinking it would be better to go a-market (gets the Job done) and save the coin for a set of Lloyds cams (makes the Job way more fun). Any tour box would be an option that I would only have on the bike for trips and would be in storage otherwise.
@Ridingfish2 жыл бұрын
So, coming off a Challenger already, I would probably get the premium

Goldwing does the same thing with suspension, has for many years, it’s all based on weight, you choose 1-25, and have presets for one rider or two. Don’t know how you call this hands down, the best tourer, let the customers decide that.

@@Ridingfish no, definitely doesn’t make it the best to be first. I just think it adds to the indian to make themselves better. I’ve been waiting for a full bagger(challenger) to come out. I’ve owned visions, road glide, voyager, now a goldwing, and I will say to this day, that the road master I rented for 1500 miles in 4 days , is still the best riding bike I’ve ever been on. Down side was way les room between passenger and driver, than the wing, that was the deciding factor, hopefully the Pursuit has more room

First thing first........Ride when you can, get that wind Therapy and we will still be here after you are done. I am still waiting to ride and looks like not to Mid April. So Nov 1 to April 15 sucks in Canada hahaha. I agree, I was really hoping for the Chieftain Liquid Cooled performance bagger. If you are looking at getting in to a Challenger, Cheaper to go Persuit for the full dresser. That is 1 thing I wish I did when I got the Chieftain, went to a RoadMaster for the har lowers and trunk and take them off when not needed, but they did not have Radar Blue so I did not get it. Now I am spending about $5500-7000 CDN to do it all afterwards on the Chieftain. As I said earlier to you on IG, I think White would still be you. But the Black is nice as well. Myself would be Blue then Red then White then Black in DH then Ltd as second choice. But as I said to you before, I would loose too much on trade in to switch to the Challenger/Pursuit right now since I just got my Chieftain july 2021. I still want 1 badly but have to wait and be responsible haha. So I will keep watching videos and dreaming of riding the beast through your videos haha. Great Vid as always.

@thomasroy65542 жыл бұрын
Is it cheaper. Tough to say. Been seeing reports of regrets from people that upgraded their base Challengers and not getting some of the bells and whistles like the lean angle tech from the DH and Limited. Not to mention the trade in value based on the VIN even with those upgrades. A Challenger base with all the add ons is still a Challenger base on paper (title). A Challenger (Base/DH/Limited) with all the Pursuit add ons is still a Challenger on paper. Accessories don't add value to a bike unless they come from the factory with those accessories. IMHO doesn't mean anything if you keep bike long term, it's your bike make it yours for the long term, but if you want to trade or sell say after 2, 3 or 4 years, you may want to remove those accessories and sell separately to recoup due to that 5-7k in accessories may only be worth 500 to 1k mounted on the bike, but 3 or 4k sold separately.
@MatlockMoto2 жыл бұрын
The point is actually the opposite. It’s cheaper to buy the pursuit than add all the stuff it has that the challenger doesn’t. I don’t want that extra stuff so the challenger was better for me, but if I did, I’d have to pay at least a thousand more than the cost of a Pursuit to upgrade my challenger to have everything the Pursuit has.

Add a tour pack fish to your challenger fish and lowers to it and you can buy a heated seat, the pursuit is a challenger fish, I thought the chieftain was going to get this motor too they should do it. But they just added some stuff to the challenger, because my bike looks exactly like the pursuit and it’s a challenger

That is an interesting point. I have not looked at building a Challenger with the add ons to make it a Pursuit. My assumption would be the opposite of yours. I think it would end up costing more than the Pursuit much like the turning the Chieftain into a RM does (we tried doing add ons to Chieftain to make a RM and it came out at a higher cost)
@don-tj7su2 жыл бұрын
@@dysfunctionalveteranese4905 you can get tour packs starting at 360 bucks for the challenger..and with the challenger starting at around 24 grand I'm betting its a lot cheaper to just add to the challenger

@@don-tj7su valid point if a person is looking at keeping cost down with Challenger and going somewhere besides Indian for the tour pack. For us, we are looking at that electronic suspension, the IMU tech (Love it in my FTR-S), and pretty much everything we see coming direct from the factory on the model we are ordering.
@dysfunctionalveteranese49052 жыл бұрын
@@don-tj7su Your suggestions all make a ton of sense if looking at accessorizing the bike minimally for touring and sticking to just what you are suggesting. I have not looked elsewhere or a build on a Challenger on Indian's site, but when I look at what else we want on a Challenger to turn it into this (lower fairing on crashbars, forward crash bar storage, crashbar fairing running lights, etc.) not sure my wife and I could keep the cost lower on a Challenger build.

@@Ridingfish Great job on the video! I have been looking at the new HD Road Glide ST, but honestly Indian just seems to be 1-2 steps ahead the last few years. I have known of guys that had trips ruined and stranded for weeks waiting on parts because of the lack of aftermarket for Indian motorcycles.
