Fun fact for anyone who doesn't know at 1:50 the pillars you see are remains of the ancient city of " Sisupalgarh" and currently excavation is going on and they have uncovered a huge city buried underneath and archeologist are conducting tests and they think this city may be even older than Romulus or Ancient Rome!! :)

The ladies are so beautiful and graceful. They looked like they were having fun and more natural than anything I’ve seen in a long time. Dance shouldn’t be all about contortionism and gymnastics. I loved the little hip shake they did in one of the scenes and their eye contact was very sensual. And don’t let me get started on their costumes and makeup. They made me want to visit India!

I think this video deserves a lot of appreciation.... CHEERS.... and people who criticize the fusion of Western beats with odissi dance should go to hell.... If u don't know how to appreciate... Just close ur eyes.... It's much better if ur eyes don't see such kind of innovative ideas.... I strongly support, appreciate, and adore the dancing, outfit of the girls....

1. I am seeing something for the very first time like this, and I am totally blown away. You guys deserve my heartiest and most grateful applause. You've taken Odissi to a whole new level, and I am proud of it. Bohut bohut dhanyabaad, from the bottom of my heart. 2. Because it's the finer things that add the soul to a film, the overall experience wasn't as wholesome as I'd expected. Ambient sounds from the locations should have been mixed with the main track, audio for the ghungroo could have been recorded entirely as a separate track and then mixed with the final output. Camera motion should have been way more dynamic. It's indeed the movement of camera that tells the story and bad camerawork, howsoever good the on-screen action is, makes it look bad. Real bad. However, the colour grading in this video was pleasant and neither over not under done. It's just that more dynamic shots, handheld run and gun camerawork, in camera focus effects, in camera lens whacking effects and other practical effects could have fixed every single loophole here. 3. Dancers are mediocre? no they aren't; it seems so because the camerawork is so lifeless. These ladies are beautiful, graceful, and the expressions that they give reach straight to the heart. Verdict: We all know that every production has a fixed budget and an extremely tight deadline. It therefore seems quite logical to put all complaints aside and enjoy this masterpiece of a final product :)

People who have a trivial idea about classical dance, would never consider this to be disaster. Firstly, dancing to beats of an English music was challenging, would have been an arduous task. Unlike Hip Hop where you can do anything, dance wildly,Odishi or any classical dance for that matter, gets narrowed on that count. I would say, the camera man/woman was too naive to shoot this video. I could see the remarkable expressions on the face, the 'tribhangas' were really good. You cant just do innovations in a form like this that too when you are dancing to a western music. The Mudras- They have been fixed, have been continuing since ages. The Natya Shastra speaks many of those rules. More than that there are many variants of the dance and it has a subtle touch to this. Eyeing for innovation and calling/consideting to be mediocore or below standard, would be uncalled for. And as they say, here the dance form is MEANT TO EXPRESS NOT TO IMPRESS. I believe if anyone has any idea about the facial expressions would clap. But that apart, there is always a scope of crossing the set limits and surpassing the past qualities and skills.Well Done Girls.Good luck.Jay jaganath.Full Bobal. Odia vai o bhauni manaku anurodh aku share kariba pain.

Saw this video after this news i must say-Adapt or perish.with all due respect to all gurus &"institute directors"..I agree with Guru Ileana's view who mentioned it is good as an experiment but should not be a regular affair. Some strict guru must be little flexible as it not just promotes odissi but culture also. I stayed in BBSR for 2 yrs gone to all places except sisupalgarh which also features in this video, will study that too. People are commenting and sharing the knowledge they have on the places. Its a promotional video and its doing its job wonderfully. Its pulling crowd (helped by some negative views). Dear Team Detour please add some more places specially beaches to this video as Odisha has lots of pristine beaches.
