Indian people suffering from toxic air and water as winter approaches

Toxic smog continued to choke the Indian capital on November 5 with air quality in some parts of New Delhi deteriorating into the “severe” range.
About a third of the city's 39 monitoring stations showed a “severe” reading of more than 400, the Central Pollution Control Board said.
The bad air quality is an annual problem for Delhi, caused by vehicles, construction dust, and fires from adjacent northern states.
Exacerbating the situation is the coming winter, during which time cold air traps pollutants and causes a rise in respiratory problems.
Delhi wants artificial rain to tackle worsening air pollution after lack of respite for residents.
Meanwhile, Dozens of Hindu women braved through the double blow of air and water pollution in New Delhi to take holy dips and perform prayer rituals in the toxic, foam-filled waters of India's sacred Yamuna river.
Drone footage of the Yamuna river showed clouds of toxic, detergent-like foam covering the river's surface as cleaners in motorboats tried to disperse the foam clouds.
Experts say that the drainage of effluents, untreated sewage and chemicals are the main causes for the contamination of the river.
New Delhi alone produces 3.6 billion litres of sewage every day but due to poor management less than half is effectively treated.
The remaining untreated waste is dumped into the Yamuna river.

Rain reduces air pollution temporarily and also the way Indian mindset works like a grazing cattle only grazes as much as can be filled in belly and no long term solution same is the case here that they are being seen as doing something for the solution of air pollution. On the contrary in Delhi the local govt should ask Chinese experts how to set up EV charging points and increase EV sales in the city because vehicles contribute the most to air pollution.

Who said that. Saar even China didn't ban firecrackers. Saar even in USA firecrackers are allowed in the independence day week of USA saar.
