Incredible empty show off. Even Vande Bharats are running far below their operational speeds because there are too few tracks in IR network capable of sustaining 160 kmph. Now where are they going to run 250 kmph trains? Laughable. 😂 Govt should instead concentrate on upgrading the quality of ordinary trains by phasing out rust cans and bringing in more modern rolling stock comparable to international standards.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad will have japanese trains that travel at 320kmph+ eventually. Edit: For now these India made trains will only be used for testing... till the Japanese train issues are solved! Which is why only 2 have been ordered!

@@k-map224 No. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is forced to use Japanese Shinkansen E5 series Tarinsets as per the contract. If India uses these there that would be a breach in the contract. The 2 sets ordered by IR are only for testing and checking running costs and feasibility. So no, the mum-ahm route WILL use shinkansen trains.

Just in today's newspaper it said that due to high price quoted by Japanese companies, government has shifted to manufacture high speed trains domestically. So sadly no E5 series will run on Mumbai - Ahmedabad route. It will be domestically made and run at 250 km/hr.

I am just telling you what is a bullet train by definition any train that crosses the speed limit of 250* (corrected) is considered as a bullet train 😂 at the maglev of 600 kmph is still in books and ppts not on track sir.. the only real maglev running on track is Shanghai maglev for now (400 kmph ) and also it is not considered as bullet train because it has no wheels. At the trains you said which travel at 275 or 350 the do not run so with constant speeds.. all of them have to hover around 200 ,250 lot of times 😂

Average speed of Vande Bharat on most tracks is 80-90 kmph and on some routes is as low as 65-70 kmph. That is because government has not invested on tracks and signalling systems. Most of the tracks in India have max speed of 120 kmph so the average speed automatically goes down. Most of the signalling system is as old as 50-60 years. That is the reason of these frequent train accidents which are only increasing with passage of time. So all these shiny trains are more or less a patch work on a rotten system. The government really needs to get their act together and invest heavily on an emergency basis on the railway infrastructure. Safety of people is much more important. Besides, if the tracks are not capable to support high speed of trains they would continue to operate at very low speeds while being marketed as semi-high speed trains which is like fooling the public.

Bullet train need special track( almost completely welded!. Presently, we have long welded tracks only.Moreover, in the Indian conditions,the tracks must be fully covered with barricades to stop the ingress of cattle/ other animals like Elephants!.Only then we can hope to run at speeds more than 160kmph( 100 mph).

With respect to China our trains feel ancient. Indian Railways still fails to provide basic hygiene, quality of food and overall services within its Railway Network. There is also a lack of awareness in availing the railway services among the people ie people traveling with no ticket yet claiming others seat to be theirs , littering everywhere like savages and absense of basic civic sense unlike we see in DMRC. Although, introduction of new trains is a great initiative but I think India should first focus on current stature of ongoing trains which are desperately looking for modernisation.

The reason why i mentioned China is we both in 1970’s were on par with each other in every aspect of country’s growth and forgot to mention we also have a war history with China. The ongoing silent conflict and the growing influence in the Indian Sub-continent Region of China is distressing. Therefore, we should always consider China as a worthy opponent and lessen this gap as before.

The per-capita income of China is six times that of India, and there is enough numbers over there who can afford to travel in bullet trains. Even with that the Chinese govt has been heavily subsidizing their HSR travel. On the other hand, even many of our Vande Bharats are running empty due to fares that are unaffordable for the masses.

@@vineethg6259 Vande bharat on popular routes are fine, some tertiary routes are a bit empty. Anyways having capability to manufacture own trainsets will be really useful. The problem with Chinese HSR is that they have built it all across, without any feasibility as they think of it as public good. They have freaking built 46000 km of HSR and are building more. That is insane. India's total aspirational planning is for 7-8k kms. Will be buiilt in phases over next 30 years, if everything goes right. Problem with China is that they have built HSR between cities like say Guwahati and Dibrugarh and not just big cities.

Project costs high because this is first prototype of indigenous high speed train . My point is that HSR is only viable if your journey is 4-5 hours max beyond that point Air Travel becomes a better option. If we reduce the speed to 250 kph, that duration becomes for journeys 3hrs only. Considering track cost 2 lakh crore for 500km and a set of 18 E5 Trains with 10 coaches each will cost only 7000 crore. Mere 5% of the cost of the track, why compromise on the train then when you have already spent so much on the track?

Yes bro..what you saying correct but railways already relaying tracks and constructing new tracks but to do whole in india it takes time..only time will tell you answers but so many railways incidents happened due to conspiracy in India by putting cylinders etc..even railways employes included ..we have civic duty to report such cases then only not halt in progress will happen

i hate this idea to be honest. Just see the condition of normal trains. they are very bad. We dont need bullet trains. we need good tracks. more number of trains. Japan and China have good general trains. We have bad trains. Especially in UP, Bihar, even in mumbai. Very bad condition on festival season. Lot of people die due to accidents.
