I had hard time understanding some of the Urdu because I have been in the US for 32 years now. There was a time when in school I won Urdu debates and even recited Allama Iqbal's poetry in competition. Thanks for reminding me what a great poet he is. Cheers from a Pakistani American

Fun fact: Dr Iqbal came under extreme criticism for writing shikwa due to all the controversial lines. It was only after Jawab-e-Shikwa that he was pardoned by the general public. apparently, his poetry was way too ahead of his time! His most controversial work is now regarded as his greatest work. People have done PhDs over this :)
