I always try to include Dash in the videos too but she's not much of a talker like Kiwi is. She screams quite a bit and I don't want to post any of those videos. I am still trying to train her. Thanks for watching and hopefully I can get more videos of Dash too.

Hello, nice and talkative parrot! I have a ringneck but it does not "talk" any word. I have it for 3 months and I was told he was 3 years old when I purchased him. He is a little bit more friendly but is scared of my hands. I cannot offer treats as a prize because he does not even allow me to get closer. I have no idea of what to do.

Thank you! Kiwi has always been a friendly bird and has never been afraid of me. Dash, on the other hand, was very afraid of me and would often try to bite me. It took her a while to trust me. Ringnecks are very social, so the more time you spend with them, the more they learn to trust you. I'd say be patient and he will come around. Each time I would interact with the birds, I speak gently to them and if I offer the a piece of fruit or nuts, I would hand it to them slowly and when I saw that they wouldn't come to me, I would just leave it in their bowl and eventually they would go get the food. So patience is key. Also, not all Ringnecks talk. I've been told the male Ringnecks are the talkers and the females don't, but Dash is a female and she talks but she only repeats what Kiwi says, so I think she talks because they are together all the time. Honestly, Kiwi started talking by watching other bird videos and he's been going nonstop ever since...lol. I hope this is helpful. Good luck and thanks for watching. 😊🐦
