🎥 South Indian Food Tour in Bangkok: • $5.78 Indian Food - Al...

BANGKOK, THAILAND - Today we’re going on a tour to eat the best North Indian food, especially Punjab food, in Bangkok, Thailand. We’re going to eat everything from street food in Pahurat to Indian fine dining. Get ready for an ultimate Indian food experience in Bangkok, Thailand!
We’re starting this tour in Pahurat, which is known as Bangkok’s Little India. Surrounding the main Siri Guru Singh Sabha Sikh Temple, you’ll find narrow alleys and lanes with lots of street food and hole in the wall restaurants.
Punjab Sweets (goo.gl/maps/nc...) - Just down the alley outside of India Emporium is Punjab Sweets a 30 year shop selling sweets and Indian food - especially dishes like chole bhatura. It’s a great place to hang out for a morning tea and their chole bhatura is the real highlight. The owner was also really nice and gave us a place of their famous sweets to try. Prices - 100 - 150 THB ($2.99 - $4.48)
Just outside Punjab Sweets is a great stall to try Paan - 10 THB ($0.30)
Samosa Corner (goo.gl/maps/eK...) - I believe it’s one of the only samosa street food stalls in Bangkok that’s been serving delicious samosas and pakoras for 45 years. You don’t want to miss it when you’re in Pahurat. Price - 70 THB ($2.09) for 5
Amritsr (g.page/amritsr...) - Next up on this North Indian food tour in Bangkok we went to Amritsr, specializing in Punjabi cuisine, especially Amritsari dishes. This is the type of restaurant where you’ll find a huge menu of dishes, and you can’t really go wrong. They have a huge section of dishes cooked in the tandoor, and my favorite was the achari tikka, one of the greatest ever. They also have the entire range of North Indian thick and rich curry’s. Highly recommended for some of the best North Indian restaurants in Bangkok. Prices - 200 - 400 THB ($5.97 - $11.95) per dish
Punjab Grill (g.page/punjabg...) - Finally to complete this North Indian food tour in Bangkok, we went to Punjab Grill, a contemporary North Indian restaurant that serves authentic and modern dishes. Their lamb dishes are particularly delicious and I also loved their incredible tandoori prawns. You can order a la carte, and they also offer a tasting menu, as a fine dining experience, and a buffet brunch on Sundays. Prices - 400 - 800 THB ($11.95 - $23.89) per dish
It was an amazing time eating through Bangkok, at some of the best North Indian restaurants!

indian food varies with each state and ethnicity. this episode specifically covers punjab state. punjabi dishes are mild in taste and the most popular 'indian' food around the world is punjabi food except south east asia. OTH,, south india has 5 states, with their own individual cuisine. it is one of the spiciest cuisines in india. and is very famous in south east asia, due to historic reasons.

There are Indian restaurants in Sydney…they will have a good proportion of this food. Most Indian restaurants are North Indian and serve North Indian food. Less number of South Indian restaurants though.

Back in the days when I was in college in Chandigarh/ Punjab, there used to be this Punjabi restaurant called Prince in sector 15th. The food was so good, I can still imagine and feel the flavor of their dishes by just thinking of those days. I am not sure if the restaurant is still open. But Mark, if you visit the beautiful city of Chandigarh in future, I highly recommend to try that place.

Spectacular video of a such a wide variety of Indian cuisine!! Love the stories behind some dishes and watching the chefs turn out such delicious dishes, not just pleasing to the eye but to the palates of the customers. Now you know this video has made everyone crave some Indian food. At the moment I’m no where close to an Indian food Restraunt but the moment I get to a large town that has one, I will be paying a visit.!Thank you Mark for educating your viewers about cultural foods of the world!

Hi betty, Pleasantly surprised to know that people from arkansas are watching international food videos. Are there indian restaurants in arkansas? I've heard that arkansas is a very conservative place in america and not very open to other cultutres etc etc. Is there any truth to that?
@bjclassic1950

@@vv6533 I can only vouch for the northwest counties, Benton & Washington. We have a favorite Indian Restraunt in Bentonville called Flavors with wonderful Indian dishes. There’s a small Indian supermarket and another small International market and numerous Asian markets that sell spices, fresh products and products from the respective countries. So many new cafes, Restraunt’s have opened in the last Several yrs, Korean, Thai, Mediterranean, Philippines and more. Lots of ethnic food trucks as well. I attribute so much of the diversity of cultures because this is the headquarters of Walmart. Many vendors from the world live here and many fly in and out of the area year around. There’s a large group of foodies that share a lot of things in Instagram and FB to spread the word of what’s new to the areas. I traveled alot growing up and then traveled as an adult as a USArmy wife. Seriously ate my first Cuban foods in Lawton, Ok in ‘68-69, Home to Ft Sill. One can always find multi cultural places to eat in any military towns. I’ve raised my 2 kids the same and they have the same love for different foods. We make attempts to learn how to cook some favorites. At the moment I’m visiting in eastern Arizona and not much to pick from until we go to a larger city north. I have friends back in Ar who never try anything new and it’s a sad thing. Exploring different cultures and their foods is educational and delightful. I was born in SW Louisiana and lived many yrs in New Orleans area before moving to Ar. Some of the best food in the world can be found in New Orleans. Thank you for your reply Vivek and never pass an opportunity to experience something new👍😁

@@bjclassic1950 fascinating to know about you and your family. Be blessed. I've a lot to learn from people like you and be more open minded and embrace diversity. That's why I love America. And I always want my country to have a close and good relationship with the US. I always do my due diligence before believing others opinion. Now I'm getting a very good impression of Arkansas or at least the counties you live in. Of course there are few bad apples everywhere in the world. So it's ridiculous to generalize a whole state by the behaviour of few. Keep exploring and never stop. I have a huge respect for American soldiers who are honest, decent and hardworking. Glad to know that you're from a military family. Would love to visit US someday and explore the southern US cuisine which is pretty popular I've heard.
