May canada not want international students now and in initial ground there is disinterest of student with studying in canada but again to attract student will much more difficult for Canadian government. @@User15699 no one invited students, what ever lies were told by your own indian immigration agents in india, who have no legal right to talk on behalf of Canadian gov. Trudea or nmark miller never gurenteed visa or work. few years back, students were not even allowed to work. 20 to 40 hour work was suppose to be temporary policy. Students were given permission for a temporary stay, not PR. you indians want to enter as students then never want to go back, which is a clear violation of return to home after study disclaimer that every student signs when applying for visa. again, PR is a privlege not anyones right. students pay 6 times fee because your parents never contributed to Canada with tax. Canadians get that advantage because our generations have been paying tax, it was our tax that built these universities.

@jodijaanify when I say invite students I say attract students canada government works very deeply with the agents to attract indian students so their is the big role of government in attracting india students. Another Canadian law allows students to apply for work after study visa not trudeau or mark Miller. Why students come to canada over other countries by observing that he or she can study 2 years and work 3 years. This after work was important reason behind students selection canada as country and canada government can also increase 1.5 years after this 3 years which Canadian government always do . But now students study for 2 years they not get work permit for which they select canada over many countries. If indian students are doing violation then why Canadian government is providing PR to students why they are even giving PR to students and violating their own rules. The reason is this is not a rule violation they apply legally and students never demand citizenship they demand for work visa or extension which is their rights as Canadian system promises them while selecting. Many Canadian thinks that we pay tax that why we pay less that is clearly not true even some German institutions provide free education to international students the reason behind high price for international students is that institutions runs on the international students money and that money build that University and give rank globally. If this students decrease institution funding will not cover by taxes in fews years you will see some public institution will suffer from expenses.

International students have been flocking to a loophole-to-immigration. Utilizing schooling as a backdoor ticket to Canada (instead of using the upfront immigration channels). Swarming a system that was NOT designed to be about EVERY student wanting PR. Now all Canadians have clued in that Canada's post secondary education system has (in 4 years time) turned into EDUGRATION. Something that the PUBLIC schools were NOT created for. Plus edugration (public or private) was NEVER approved by everyday Canadians. Plus what about Ghost Consulting that Canada told India to halt? What about the $ greedy foreign agents MARKETING & LYING to their own people about access to PR etc., being easy to get? What about IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? Fraud? False asylum claims? What about Canadian food banks & charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by/for internationals? What about home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply"? Are all international students truly Scholars … or are most Economic Migrants (who BORROWED $ to buy their way to the head of the immigration line)? Yes Canada made some unfortunate mistakes especially by not pumping the immigration brakes sooner. But to say all the students (or their consultants back home) have not been at times 'gaming' Canada's EDUCATION programs to PRIMARILY gain western PR is ridiculous. Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is very happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian-Canadians where many have been the MOST upset (by all of this). PS Canadians are aware that some great students are going through hell. And know Canada is partially to blame which hurts Canadian hearts. But bottom-line, Canada decides what needs to be done in Canada. Do you see Canadians protesting in other countries (that is not their own) making demands for themselves? No. Do Canadians see students from South Asia protesting in Canada, making demands since the world pandemic? Yes. If 36,000,000 Canadians travelled to India, since 2020, with the primary goal of being able to stay there permanently, that would raise India's population by 2.65%. Recent migrators (after PR) … especially the students... have raised Canada's population 2.65%. Changes are occurring in 2024, for HUGE reasons.

Even a poor apprentice from little known but genuine Hotel management degree and little five star hotel experience in India who was on short term US visa is now facilities manager in Amazon USA, married to daughter of his senior in company, and US citizen leading comfortable life with 2,00,000 family income in USA, at age 28. There is nothing special for such people in Canada

I am a resident of PEI, and I support the protestors. I hope that they are allowed to stay here. They want to be here, and they've started building lives here. It's unfair to suddenly change the rules, and it would be very unfair to force them to leave.

They changed the rules on getting PR. They're allowing them to stay until their permit expires.... they didn't say "well, you can work here for 2 years" and then kick them out 6 months later. Some of the people protesting were interviewed and said they have less than 50 points toward immigration and are demanding to be allowed to stay as long as necessary to get the points. What's the point of even having an immigration point system unless it matters. I'm old enough to remember when my province just started to bring in Indian immigrants and I hadn't met one who wasn't friendly and kind. They loved to share food and culture with neighbours; they integrated into the general society while keeping their personal customs. They studied hard, they worked hard, and they earned the types of education that made them a net positive to society. I've had to check the local court docket daily for 2 decades (stalker reasons) and I can't remember ever seeing a name usually associated with India. The recent wave of students are not like that. They're trying to jump the queue over other immigrants (including those from India) who are more than qualified to stay here and are working their way through the process the right way. The biggest group of people who want them to go home are other people from South Asia, because of the crime and housing issues. We're not allowed to discriminate in Canada when it comes to renting, but over 80% of apartment rentals in the GTA say "Punjabi (Or Gujarati) only". Now there are more India-associated names on the court docket than anyone else. Stats Can just released a report showing that of the people inadequately housed (homeless, living in overcrowded conditions), over 60% of them are Indian students crowded into homes, with up to 25 people living together.
