Indian Summer | Contemporary Kathak Dance Choreography | Jai Wolf

Hello my #dancewithSL fam! It's been awhile so let me explain myself. During lockdown I've been doing a LOT of teaching (at one point I was teaching 4 classes/week - phew!) and have also been getting back into training heavily myself. I used this as an opportunity to grow within dance and choreography so that when I started creating for you again it would be new and fresh. Enjoy my latest - a story of a girl who steals the sun. Check out the story below: two different adaptations by two brilliant writers. Enjoy :)
At dawn my movements are reborn,
Tapping quietly, each step small
I’m whispering out to her,
A quiet call
The air retreats,
The tempo spreading from under my feet
She ascends, I reach
Hurrying, exhausting each step
I run, luring her further
Looking to my left,
I feel warmth pour through me
There on my right,
She’s running with me
Each breath now a bead of light,
We beat as one.

What strength does the sun have that it chooses to rise every single day,
What failure does it fear that it chooses to fall at the first point of the night
And with those rises and falls came my journey
And to walk beside me a shadow, silent but present along the way,
Would you call it an act of bravery or stupidity
That I chose to steal the very light from the sun
And that moment only realizing that it was a reflection of the light within myself
Not at the end, nor at the beginning, but of that moment,
my shadow got its chance to dance, and my journey an everlasting light to guide it

I am taking kathak online lessons at the moment, but the way you transcend the flying state this electronic music gives its amazing, I really love the Sufi kathak as well. Ahhhh the dance of the soul.

Sorry for not attending when you were doing online classes through I am not into dance. But I am not new to your channel. What I like most in your style of art is that you never keep aside classical touch whatever may be your dance option. You give your stellar performance in each and every session. I got bold this time more for the stunning roof white roof terrace. I wish I could be there once. And definitely your superb black outfits, superfine in quality and you opted no ornaments only roses. Your tremendous dance step sometime compelled me to think as if you have come down from heaven. Just stunning.

Absolutely stunning, I’m in awe... this is one of my favorite songs in the entire world, if not my very favorite, and this choreography is just so perfect. I especially loved all the spins at 2:10-2:35, they’re exactly what I always imagine in my head every single time I listen to that part of the song, and you did it so flawlessly. Everything about this video is so gorgeous and so are you! I’m definitely subscribing and I hope to see more of these videos for songs like this one.
