Kohli we all know is a great player, but probably the worst captain India has ever had. He has flopped as a captain in every ICC event, flopped in IPL and even flopped in test cricket he only managed one away series win in Australia that too when they didn't have Warner and Smith.

@@julianbanks1885 ,lol that same 2017-2018 aus team whitewashed nz,pak,sl at home.so dont say that was weak australian team.india was 2-1 lead in eng,1-0 lead in rsa when he left test captaincy.he was better test captain than both dhoni & rohit.india never lost single hone series under him.our pace bowling improved under him... before start of the 2020 t20wc ,kohli already said that it was his last t20wc as captain.so he himself left t20 captaincy ,not bcoz of ganguly. kohli just wanted to captaining another odi wc, which ganguly disgareed... kohli got one of the inexperienced t20wc squad .ishan kisan played only 1 t20i, varun 3t20i ,rahul chahar 2 t20i,surya 5t20i before selecting for that wc.also toss plays huge roll in dubai,95% time chasing team wins there.india lost toss against nz,pak & lost both that match... with rohit india also lost 2021t20wc,still he got 2nd chance & work on his previous mistake & got success in 2nd time... & auction table,selection skill of franchise matter more in ipl than captaincy.with iyer kkr wins ipl trophy but that doesnt mean he is good captain...

Saurav will remain the greatest Captain of India, not based on records but his contribution. After Azhar destroyed Indian cricket with matchfixing, Indian fans literally gave up on cricket. My friends were also not watching any match. But Saurav built a new team with, and not only revived Indian cricket but also made it a world beating side. Within 3 years he helped India draw an away series against he mighty Aussies after decades. The wealth and success of Indian cricket in last 20 years is only due to the Maharaja - Dada Saurav Ganguly.
