When I was little, the ride broke down right when Indiana Jones was swinging on the rope when the ball came down. We were stuck there for like 15 minutes. I remember that was so much fun. Great for pictures too. When the ride went back on, the ball came rolling at out, and scared us all half to death. Good memories.

The ride only has one path, with different lighting and effects depending on which 'door' you go through. The Chamber of Destiny has 5 doors, two on each side of the track. The ceiling and walls rotate across the 5 doors only showing three at a time to make the single track appear in any of the three positions.

This, besides the ORIGINAL Star Tours, is my favorite Disneyland ride. I was pretty lucky and went to Disneyland at a time where there were practically NO lines anywhere at the park. (Early Spring 2008). The ambience was downright amazing. Yet again, I was probably EXTREMELY lucky.

I love this ride. I think I went on it before I watched the movies, but I was really young when I went on the ride for the first time and my memory is kind of fuzzy from that time. I remember being scared of that massive snake. I'll admit this, I looked into Mara's eyes and doomed our whole party to a fiery hell of eternal suffering. The last time I went on it the ride broke down, apparently it was because one of those damn selfie sticks was dropped. I hate those stupid things, the mechanic was pretty cool but it was really inconvenient for not just my dad and myself but everyone on the ride. It kind of brought us out of the illusion.

This is 🆒. LOL! You should rent the Indiana Jones movies if you have time to do that online. Believe it or not, this was the first scene that appeared in that dream I had in October before my dad's operation which was cancerous prostate gland removal which took place 7️⃣ years ago (2014). I can't wait to go on this ride again with my parents in May 2015 which was 5️⃣ years ago. I don't want to be touched in the queue again by my mom. The 1 that has the hieroglyphics in the corner? I really don't like being touched roughly when people are watching and trying to pay attention at the same time. The purpose of her touching me in this fashion of tactile was to get my attention about being present at all times and not leaving the sight of the ride line up.

I just got back from Disneyland; went on this twice. The first time the huge rock didn't roll and both times the idol's eyes were dark. :/ I forgot that they glowed at all and I was like "They should have the eyes glow..." lol. For being one of the most popular rides I'd think they would try a little harder to make sure everything worked properly. I know there's only so much they can do and they can't predict most malfunctions but...just sayin'.

It really depends on what time of day you get on the ride, I suggest you go right when the park opens, and get on it first things, this is when they have less problems and there isn't so many problems. This is a popular ride, and at the end of the night when the line is an hour to two hours long the try to push as many people though as possible. The glowing eyes tend to get over looked towards the end of the night and the boulder because they don't have enough time to reset at the rate the ride is moving. For a better experiences go first thing in the morning when you can walk right on. Any time past 2 pm will most likely have these problems.

Back in 1988 I went to my friend's final project presentation for graduation at the Pasadena Art Center. One of the other students who was presenting as well had a mockup of a ride he envisioned "Indiana Jones". One of the reviewers was a Disney "Imagineer" (the same one who had worked on the re-design of the "Alice In Wonderland" ride). The ride as presented was a much more elaborate version, with a track that went on forever and suspended above the ground for most of it, twisting and bending in on itself. Nevertheless, I was still shocked when I went to Disneyland in 1992 and saw how the student's vision had been realized.

No, the gates to the ride: earthly Pleasures, Eternal Youth, and Sight into the Future are the only parts different from each other. The track is the same but those gates change at random making you think you're on a different track when you're not. But depending on which theme you get the dialogue will be changed slightly throughout the ride. The gates are on a revolving track that move between each vehicle making you think there are 3 different tracks.
