-Julian said Indiana Jones is a ripoff of Uncharted. -Uncharted was considered a ripoff of Tomb Raider (it was called "Dude Raider" back in '07) -Tomb Raider was called "Indiana Jones with boobs" It happened. We've finally come full circle.

Uncharted was never considered a rip-off of Tomb Raider....Uncharted 1 and Tomb Raider Underworld, which was the game out when Uncharted came out is not similar in any way... However they did completely rip-off Uncharted for the Tomb Raider reboot games which are exactly like Uncharted.

I love that Harrison Ford does NOT indulge people's nerdy questions. He is just an actor and has no idea about the deep lore of things not in the movies he was in. He does not give any thought to "well what would Han do in this situation?" unless it's in the script.

It’s called recency bias. You become forgiving of the previously terrible crap if something even worse comes along. This can also be observed with people reevaluating the George W Bush presidency when Trump was in office… but the reality is the old shit was still shit. We are just victim to continually lowered expectations.

Except that even those who have responded unfavorably to "Dial of Destiny", for the most part, still agree it's better than "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"... No matter what, trash it trash. @@cheddarcheese7928I think it kinda is though. Even if it is done a million times, it either works or it doesn’t, and it can divide people. Plenty of people are really divided on Luke in TLJ, and we’re unsure of how to feel at first when Harrison Ford was in TFA as a matter of fact until people chimed in and praised not only the film, flaws and all, but Harrison in it. Unless it is Wolverine, it’s still a really, really risky choice, and even for Wolverine, I’m not sure if every person was okay with Logan dying.

The middle of the movie drags. Raiders and Crusade both are paced better and keeps that fast paced adventure feel throughout their runtime. Doom starts strong and then slows to a crawl before picking back up for the finish. I don't hate it but it's not my favorite. Crusade, Raiders, Doom/Skull tie is my best to worst list. He kills more people than he did in the 4th film lmao. And his performance is layered, nuanced, and really damn good. Bridge is annoying and unlikeable but she doesn't ruin the movie. DT is my fave review show. I’ve been a member since the Spill days. I love you guys! But you’re always telling us not to accept reheated mediocrity or we’ll keep getting it! This movie was more deserving of this advice than ANYTHING else you’ve reviewed in the last 15 years!!!! I’m glad you enjoyed it but I can’t agree with the ‘matinee’ rating and forgiving critique… 😢 i don’t think I’ve seen a movie more obviously assembled by committee than this one. I couldn’t find anything ‘bold’ here. Even the ‘wildness’ of the ending seemed like a script idea with an ‘Indy can’t keep living in the past’ theme that wasn’t realised in a way true to whatever the original intention was supposed to be! An undeveloped cut-and-paste hodgepodge. Just my opinion of course but the film left me feeling cold, empty and cynical. And after a slew of properties that have milked old IPs recently, that’s saying something.😔

Title: Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Atlantis INT. UNIVERSITY LECTURE HALL - DAY Dr. Indiana Jones, a rugged archaeologist in his late 50s, stands in front of a packed lecture hall, displaying images of ancient ruins. INDIANA JONES Ladies and gentlemen, today we delve into the mystery of the lost city of Atlantis. While many consider it a myth, I believe it holds the key to unlocking untold treasures and ancient knowledge. The students listen attentively, fascinated by Indiana's expertise. EXT. GREEK ISLAND - DAY Indiana receives a mysterious package containing an ancient artifact. It's a map showing the location of Atlantis. Intrigued, he embarks on a thrilling journey to uncover the truth. INT. LIBRARY - NIGHT Indiana delves into ancient texts, deciphering clues that lead him to believe Atlantis is hidden beneath the Mediterranean Sea. He sets off to find a renowned marine archaeologist, DR. ELENA SANCHEZ, who possesses the knowledge he needs. INT. ELENA'S LAB - DAY Indiana meets Dr. Elena Sanchez, a brilliant and adventurous scientist, who shares his passion for uncovering hidden secrets. Together, they analyze the map and determine the general location of Atlantis. EXT. MEDITERRANEAN SEA - DAY Indiana and Elena set sail on a small research vessel, accompanied by a skilled crew. As they navigate treacherous waters, they face fierce storms and encounter rival treasure hunters determined to claim Atlantis' riches for themselves. INT. UNDERWATER CAVERN - DAY Indiana and Elena discover a hidden underwater cavern that leads them deep into the heart of Atlantis. They encounter elaborate traps and puzzles left behind by an ancient civilization, testing their wits and skills. INT. ATLANTIS TEMPLE - DAY They reach a grand temple within Atlantis, adorned with gold and precious gems. Inside, they find evidence of a powerful energy source that could revolutionize the world if harnessed or bring destruction if misused. EXT. ATLANTIS CITY - DAY As Indiana and Elena explore the sprawling ruins of Atlantis, they uncover the tragic history of its downfall. They learn that the city's advanced technology led to its own destruction, and they must prevent history from repeating itself. INT. ATLANTIS THRONE ROOM - DAY Indiana and Elena confront the main antagonist, a ruthless treasure hunter named VICTOR MALONE. He seeks to harness the energy of Atlantis for his personal gain, regardless of the consequences. A thrilling battle ensues, with Indiana and Elena using their knowledge and resourcefulness to outsmart Malone's hired goons and prevent him from accessing the power source. EXT. ATLANTIS - DAY The city begins to crumble as the energy source destabilizes. Indiana and Elena narrowly escape, ensuring the destruction of Atlantis while preserving its secrets. INT. UNIVERSITY LECTURE HALL - DAY Indiana concludes his lecture, sharing the tales of his epic adventure with his captivated audience. INDIANA JONES In the pursuit of knowledge and history, we must always tread with caution. For some secrets are better left buried. The students applaud as Indiana steps down from the podium, leaving them with a sense of wonder and a desire to explore the mysteries of the world. FADE OUT. Written by Chat GPT

The de-aging LOOKED great, but at the same time I just couldn't get past the primal, fundamental fact that that WASN'T Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones going through those action set pieces. It's just not *him*, any more than it would be if they substituted an animated sprite in a fedora. The thrill of Indy has always been his deep humanity, inextricable from Ford the person and Ford the actor. So intellectually I was thinking yeah, that looks amazing. I don't care what anybody says. Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom was the best in the series. Yes! I said it! It was the sequel that took place before Raiders of the Lost Ark. It had a villain, Molla Ram, was the scaries villain ( worst than The Nazis). Why? He pillaged a village of its resources, participated in child slavery, Black Magic and human sacrifice. The first Indiana Jones earned a PG-13 rating and had eery, horror elements. Also. The action sequences were the best. Mine cart chase, The rope bridge, Thugee killed by a rock crusher. This movie had the BALLS to go there.

So far, I've had just the one viewing, and it didn't seem that way to me. 🤔 Granted, I was having a good day with my health, I guess, because I was able to sit until the end of the credits without my left eye sleeping or me rushing to the men's restroom. It was like a very pleasant theme park ride experience. 😀

2.1K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome! Thanks! 😊 Notes: Archimedes? From what I understand based on articles and videos, he was into water displacement, so that made sense to me. But in the movie, Jones did it so simply that it reminds me of a similar scene in "Aqua-Man" in which Arthur said that he could've "just peed on it" or something like that. The title informs us about Time Travel. But they didn't bring the son back. I saw Harrison's remake of "Call of the Wild" so I knew that he was old. Seeing that Karen didn't age as well shocked me! 😳 We "nitpick" about different things! In the hanger, the big bomber looks like a "Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor" but once in flight it looks like a different airplane sometimes! 😁 "Matinee"? I saw it at night last week. Tomorrow my best friend thinks that he might be able to see it for the local matinee time. There's only a $2.00 difference though for us in our 50s. We're not yet eligible for the Senior Discount! Your young guy should be informed that the one with Kate Capshaw is a prequel to the first movie. 😉 "Magic"? What Lord God Jehovah does wouldn't be Magic. But in Kate's movie, what they showed us would qualify. 🤔 I didn't see any problems with "The Crystal Skull" movie! So my guesses are that some people didn't like being reminded of "Ancient Aliens"? Or that they added SF elements to a Fantasy franchise? Evangelicals didn't like their God having competition from the "false gods" in the second movie. Maybe they had similar feelings about the Skull movie? That, and perhaps their deity of choice would be explained away as merely an "alien"? Did you notice how Jones said that the other scholarly guy was trying to remove the faith elements by turning it into science? 🤔

I’m going to give this movie a chance and check it out. I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on my 11th birthday back in 2008. It was the first time for me seeing Indiana Jones on the big screen. I seen the first three movies on VHS and DVD which I enjoyed as well.

Even before seeing this movie, I kinda adored the chaos of Crystal Skull. Now that I finally saw this movie, that its sad that Crystal Skull is better than this trash. I rather have Indiana Jones be like Bond, where every couple of years you pick a new actor. Also Ford needs ro retire.

I just got out of a showing, and honestly.....I liked the movie. Of course, it's not better than the trilogy nothing can be. This felt like an Indiana Jones film, at least to me. I never hated Crystal Skull it was just the story that didn't intrigue me. It didn't feel like it was a passing of the torch film. it was more of a one last ride for the character. Even though Last Crusade was a great finale. Also I liked the actress who plays Helena woman is fine, again that's me.

Saw it July 4th with my sister and my niece The film has a terrific opening sequence with de-aging technology making Indy the hero we know and love Worth the wait, long but it was a nice send off for Harrison Ford Indy is now in a point in time where men like him don't matter anymore, the profession is a dying art given the age of the space race A hero can do for the world when it needs him no more, he goes down as much as the sun sets, your greatest liability you should set straight towards it The newer characters didn't feel like they had enough screen time and the action sequences could've used more spark but I'm thankful they brought back Sallah and Marion Plus they give an explanation for Mutt's absence which is clever Phoebe Waller-Bridge makes for a good ally as his god daughter cause you don’t know where her alliance is It’s visually slick and has enough nostalgia for fans The last half....god, I didn't expect them to go that route!!! Glad John Williams' score kept things in motion Ford definitely acknowledges his age in this one asking if he still belongs where he is for whomever, he’s thinking about chasing the old days or accepting that they’re completely gone There’s great themes about time and what you could change if you could go back, maybe reset destiny It's less ridiculous than ‘Crystal Skull’ that's for sure plus the ending brings everything together This is all about age, time, and relationships whatever the world changes around us thanks to James Mangold’s direction telling the story of a hero in his twilight years

Love the costumes guys! Here’s how I rank the Indy films (just my opinion, folks): 5. The Temple Of Doom -- A good Indiana Jones movie, with fun parts like the mine car chase, but the excessive violence and Kate Capshaw screaming her head off through the whole movie puts this one at the bottom for me. It may be my least favorite of the Indiana Jones films, but it’s still in good company with the rest of the films. 4. The Dial Of Destiny -- I wasn’t sure Harrison Ford could play Indy again at his current age, but he did it. Another fun Indy movie, with great action sequences, but the ending…. I’m pretty baffled by it. The movie kinda runs out of steam by the end, so it’s not the great send-off for Indy and Harrison Ford that it should be, but it’s certainly entertaining enough. I liked it better than Temple Of Doom, so that’s good enough for me. 3. The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull -- The haters are never gonna stop hating this movie, but dammit, I’ve always enjoyed Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. I don’t mind aliens being in an Indiana Jones movie. I don’t mind Indy escaping a nuclear blast in a fridge. I don’t mind the use of CGI. It’s a fun movie! It’s also the movie that reunited Indy with Marion, so for that reason alone I’m glad the movie was made. I like Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, and there’s no law that says I can’t like it. 2. The Last Crusade - Harrison Ford and Sean Connery….what’s not to like? Tremendous fun from start to finish. I also enjoyed the glimpse at the beginning into Indy’s early days (RIP River Phoenix). 1. Raiders Of The Lost Ark -- The first Indiana Jones movie and still the best! An all-time classic. Outstanding entertainment, and a brilliant introduction to Harrison Ford as Indy. Love it!

I really liked this movie, I do think some of the action sequences should've been cut in half, but I personally didn't feel the runtime & I found it very entertaining. I can't wait to watch this again, but there are several movie cliche's I did get kind of annoyed of because it's become so typical in movies nowadays where it's almost a new blockbuster formula, I wanna spoil the ending but I'll wait till it comes on DVD or when they do a spoil discussion but my rating is a high matinee, it's a good refresher from the many multiverse movies that are out right now
