The awesomeness is itching my fomo. I got the same set as you Matt and I won't double dip either. It's Paramount so there will be other releases coming soon. Temple of Doom is still in the third slot for me but it's aged very well.

The Last Crusade should’ve really been the last. I just looked at the blu ray I have, the “complete” collection from 2012, and it was pretty funny that more special features were added for the original trilogy and the set omitted so many features from the Crystal Skull blu ray. I think it’s the same for the 4K set. I think hours of behind the scenes for Crystal Skull won’t do the movie any favors. When the 5th movie comes out and it’s even worse, I can already hear people say that now Crystal Skull isn’t too bad compared to the new one haha

I bought the flimsy non steelbook set and as shitty as the packaging is I do think experiencing these in 4K was absolutely incredible. I still think they are one of the best examples of what HDR can do to an older film. By the way I like you guys reviewing these old school movies, keep it going!

I agree, they were so beautifully shot to begin with plus nostalgia if you're around our ages (mid-twenties). It's a dream seeing these types in 4K. The Shining and Nightmare on Elm Street gave me the same feeling.

Matt im right there with you I bought the horrendous steelbook set also... But I kept telling myself it's about the transfers and the films themselves. Btw did you guys hear recently Quentin Tarantino hot take he said that Crystal Skull was a better movie than last crusade lol

I think it's even more agregious for a company to release Steels and then release better ones later. We chose...poorly. And yes, I just saw the QT headline but didn't read his reasoning. What did he say?

Temple of Doom is my favourite, don't know why it's even in the conversation of it being bad or not that good it's damn good and love the dark horror side of it, it mixes up the trilogy a bit

I love temple of doom. It's the one that I remember most from my childhood. It's also awesome that the outrage it drew from parents led to the creation of the PG-13 rating.

And man after watching cinema for 40 years, I know all the shit he samples...so going back and watching his films cheapens them a bit now because so many things are not exactly original. He had Judd Apatow/Rob Zombie syndrome for sure... I'm sure Kate Capshaw, Leslie Mann and Sheri Moon are great people, but they forget that the audience isn't IN love with them like they are.
