This is my 50th year hunting Indiana. I looked forward to seeing how you handled hunting spots where there should have been deer, but find none They have killed so many does over the past 15 years makes hunting Indiana a challenge. I sit at spots that would seam impossible not to see a deer, but many times nothing. Low deer count, especially on public. This is based on observations during 1,223 hunts Love the show, looking forward to your turkey hunts this spring
@billweihl28593 жыл бұрын
All of you guys have picked some pretty active spots to hunt. I tell ya what, my hat's off to ya bud for even showing us that clip but we've all been there so shake it off and get back after them and thanks for sharing this. I hate to see that half the beast crew had to depart and I didn't see Jim in there either. Lots of good knowledge sitting around this campfire and I learn something every episode. Be safe fellas.

Paraphrasing: "I didn't get my bow, arrow, and broadhead combination ready for the season, when I essentially had the entire off-season to do so. Then, I used a mechanical broadhead to make up for my lack of preparation. Later, I shot through a narrow shooting lane and wounded a buck". What a shocking outcome! Do better.
@richardrankin64683 жыл бұрын
Also to add in that I don't think those guys gave enough efforts to confirm wether the deer was fatally hit or going to survive at that point you owe it to the animal for your best efforts on behalf of your mistake

The same thing happened to Saturday but it was ah clean miss, and it's bCs of my anchor point I believe... My kisser button fell off right before season and I thought I'd be fine without it but I been having ah hard time keeping me anchor point consistent without it. Might have to shoot to the shop tmrw

I have never been able to keep kisser buttons on my bow long. Got a Bowman nose button and love it! Once you learn how to tie the constriction knot they will not move! Check them out you might like it.

@@coletroxel5530 maybe I will... I'm lost with out having something to put the corner of my mouth up against... Ever sense I been bow hunting I have either had ah kisser or one of those little BB looking things on my string to put up against the corner of my mouth... It feels so awkward for me with out it and I been hitting right when I shoot.. this evening I thought I got it figured out and I was back to ah little bigger then ah golf ball size group at 25 yards but every once in awhile I'd send one high right and each practice session this week my first shot would be high right( not good)
@anitahickey10403 жыл бұрын
@@coletroxel5530 what happened to me is this, I shot all year long and I have ah cheap octane style whisker biscuit on my bow. Well it was starting to look ah little rough and I was worried my bow would go out of tune so rather then take it to the shop, I stopped practicing about 2 weeks before season started. I was dailed and ready to go and I thought I would be fine. But my kisser button came off like right when I decided to stop practicing. I think I practiced 2 more times with out the kisser but it didn't really effect me bCs I had been practicing alot so I was anchoring and getting in the same position without even thinking about it... So then Saturday happened, I shot about an inch over the back of ah 2-1/2 year and the shot was to the right( liver area). So the next day I practiced. I was hitting high and right and I was anchoring in diff. Places. Sense I hadn't practiced I ah month I was no longer doing things instinctively so not having the kisser button really effected me....

I’ve seen the 8point twice since then but he’s well educated and he’s really sneaky. Last Saturday he was directly under me and I didn’t even know it until he turned and was heading away from me🙄 I’m leaving in a half hour to head out to camp for the last day of archery season
