I certainly can appreciate Adam's attention to detail, but the gun belt holds the whip as well. In Raiders the whip holder was permanently fastened to the gun belt, while it is loose in the other movies. Still a great get-up, though!

Indy's hat was rabbit felt. "Cannot get anymore accurate than this" is an inaccurate statement in itself.

Yeah but that hat was both used in the latest movie effectively making canon, and the Indiana jones character would definitely have had a beaver hat if he was a professor in the 30s, the rabbit hat was just the prop guys for raiders being cheap

Beaver felt is also much more expensive than rabbit felt. It's also more durable.

The gun is a Webley btw, standard british revolver, plus the boots are Aldens. The pants are US Army officers trousers if i remeber correctly

No, the webley is used in the last crusade, so yes the m1917 s&w mark Vl is used in raiders of the lost ark, a 45 acp revolver not the enfield mark webley

The pants were inspired by US officer Pinks, but they were custom made for production.

The revolvers he uses changes through the movies he’s gone through 3 so far. A m1917 revolver, a Webley and I believe a Smith & Wesson Mark II Hand Ejector. He’s also seen with 1 semi automatic pistol a Hi-power pistol.

Heres an other interesting fact! The 3 original stunt bullwhips from Raiders were not made by David Morgan! Adam has mentioned that they were made by him, on a previous video. The originals belonged to one of the weapon tutors on set. No one actually know who made them? Davis Morgan was commissioned to make various other types for swinging and so forth on set, that looked like the original 3. Then he was commissioned to make all the bullwhips for the next three movies. The whips look much fatter, after Raiders.

I NEVER understood WHY Indy had the Browning in the bar fight when he's got the revolver in every other scene. It just sort of came out of nowhere and was never seen again. No reason for it, just 'cause. Seems like a strange thing for a props person to do and for Spielberg to accept.

Hat should have a centre crease, not a tear drop shape. The rear brim should also be tilted down, not that strong Fedora shape because it was the "Australian Model" from Herbert Johnson, so it was an Australian style brim, also the hat is made from rabbit felt, not beaver.

Adam's hat is actually accurate to Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, however. The maker of the original hats died, so the costume designer for crystal skull had to find a new person to make them. He got the owner of Adventurebilt to make them. All the hats in crystal skull were made out of Canadian beaver felt and they looked a bit different from what is seen in Raiders. The hat actually varies in all the films.

Sure, and the Crystal Skull hat is nice, but does anyone actually cosplay Crystal Skull? But honestly, I do have a Raiders style hat in beaver because it is nicer and a Last Crusade style in rabbit that is more my beater hat. The material doesn't bug the nerd in me, but the bash. It looks too low and does look like he has a C crown, which means it was either made incorrectly or he rebashed it - which would only lead one to wonder, why bother going to all the trouble to get a bespoke handmade Indy hat if you're just going to rebash it? Plenty of open crown fedoras to be had, and from the same places that make the Indy replicas, that you could personalize and bash any way you like and for much cheaper than the Indy replica.

I'm not sure that Swales' death, departure from Herbert Johnson was the cause - the quality had declined a good bit, from what I heard, before that point. But now, HJ is certainly back on their game - their new offerigns look effing AMAZING - and are available in beaver AND rabbit (and made using the Raiders hat block once again)

The reason for different versions of hats in all films was I understand that the original Raiders wooden hat block was lost post filming Raiders so they had to source alternate hats for Temple then for Crusade they made a new wooden hat block which improved upon the Temple hat but wasn't as good as Raiders... also, another reason for alternate hats between films is a continuity reason. Within the film Raiders, I believe Indy lost his hat after diving in the submarine so he would have had to source another hat for Crusade (technology Temple was a prequel so that's irrelevant)

His hat is from Adventurebuilt, who started as a Raider’s replica hatmaker and ended up supplying the hats for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Savage’s hat is bashed slightly differently than the typical Indy bash, but it’s the same basic hat.

the hat isn't very accurate when the rear brim is tilted up. Every Indy fan knows it tilts downward (except Adam apparently) And the best hat was the Raiders hat which was rabbit felt not beaver. Try Hard

The crystal skull hat is an exact replication of the raiders hat, the only exception being that it's made of Beaver felt. So it is accurate.

Sharp Shot EFX actually they did use a similar shape for the crown as raiders but the front bash was based off crusade but the crown shape was raiders

A year late, but the hat does have an upward curl in Raiders and the other movies. A lot of scenes in Raiders (mainly the Egypt scenes) have the brim in the back either flat or a light curl down. Look at the Raven, Well of Souls and Idol Grab scenes and the hat will have an upwards curl. It's more pronounced in the Raven bar. Even the Well of Souls promo shots have the hat curled up in the back. And so what if the hat wasn't beaver. Rabbit is nice, but beaver can take more of a beating. I'd personally go for beaver because of that.

Actually Tossed Salad is correct, Savage bashed his with a ‘c’ crown, not the center dent of the Indy bash.

Deborah Nadoolman(Indy's original costume designer) actually shaped Adam's hat, not to be exactly like Indy's, but to fit Adam's own personality so she gave it a C-crown.

the Jacket is probably from Wested, I just ordered one for myself. Custom fit and Wested Leather Co are the ones who actually designed and made them for the movies.
