This is exactly what I need for our 34 acres of West Virginia. I need to build logging roads to the very top of the mountain that are no more than 10% grade so they can later be safely used for side by sides/ATV use later (after logging) Our mountain is very steep but this would tell me where is best for logging roads. Thank you for your efforts, really appreciate it! One topic I'd actually be quite interested in - though it may be too personal - is how you got into it all. What formal qualifications did you need? Did you start out with all that expensive equipment, including the LiDAR, or with a simpler drone and then gradually worked your way up as you started making money? Would be interesting to hear what you consider the "minimum starting position", both in terms of equipment and qualifications. Thanks!
@IndianaDrones4 жыл бұрын
Not too personal at all. I think that will go into the list of videos to make! One thing that I believe in whole heartedly, is persistence. Just stick with it and keep on moving forward day by day. What is the maximum flight time of the drone? 2. How accurate are the measurements taken by the drone? 3. What is the maximum range or coverage area for a single flight? 4. Is the drone capable of transmitting and analyzing data in real time? 5. What types of sensors and cameras are equipped on the drone? 6. How easy is the drone to operate and maintain? 7. Are there any specific safety features or regulations that the drone meets? Kind regards.

The name of the video is "What is LiDAR Drone Surveying", and the gentleman hosting the video says LiDAR about twenty times, but doesn't once define what LiDAR is (Light Detection And Ranging, or Laser Imaging Detection And Ranging if it is spelled LIDAR). Hey Drew! Yeah we do this by uploading a both the GCP in the site coordinate system and the corresponding point on the LiDAR dataset. We need at least 4 pts to compute the false northing/easting and scale factor. We also have a way to project into grid then manually enter in the false northing/easting and scale.
