This is exactly what I need for our 34 acres of West Virginia. I need to build logging roads to the very top of the mountain that are no more than 10% grade so they can later be safely used for side by sides/ATV use later (after logging) Our mountain is very steep but this would tell me where is best for logging roads. Awesome video.

Thank you for your efforts, really appreciate it! One topic I'd actually be quite interested in - though it may be too personal - is how you got into it all. What formal qualifications did you need? Did you start out with all that expensive equipment, including the LiDAR, or with a simpler drone and then gradually worked your way up as you started making money? Would be interesting to hear what you consider the "minimum starting position", both in terms of equipment and qualifications. Thanks!

Not too personal at all. I think that will go into the list of videos to make! One thing that I believe in whole heartedly, is persistence. Just stick with it and keep on moving forward day by day. Is the drone capable of transmitting and analyzing data in real time? 5. What types of sensors and cameras are equipped on the drone? 6. How easy is the drone to operate and maintain? 7. That said, I agree with @Patryc. The name of the video is "What is LiDAR Drone Surveying", and the gentleman hosting the video says LiDAR about twenty times, but doesn't once define what LiDAR is (Light Detection And Ranging, or Laser Imaging Detection And Ranging if it is spelled LIDAR). The video alludes to the process, but it would have been cool to overview what it is and how it works instead of seeing slo-mo footage (which almost seemed disruptive by the end). Not a bad video, but it could have been better and much more informative.

Hey Drew! Yeah we do this by uploading a both the GCP in the site coordinate system and the corresponding point on the LiDAR dataset. Yes! Absolutely! I flew into Quito and traveled into the Amazonas last summer. 10 days of beautiful flying. Learned a lot about the ability of the LiDAR to penetrate the dense rainforest canopy. I'm planning to make a video discussing how the LiDAR can "see" through the forest canopy and see the ground! But, I'm looking forward to going back to Ecuador!

Hello, what software are you using to work on your lidar point cloud ?! Great videos by the way ! And do you think the livox from DJI would be usefull for archaeological survey ?

Great video! Very interesting. One question. If you were using LiDAR to survey a cotton field or similar dense farm crop. Would you be able to accurately survey the ground? Or would the dense crop impede the survey accuracy? Thanks in advance!

Yes, the LiDAR would be able to penetrate the vegetation. You can learn more about that in this video and article: Why use drone LiDAR? So if I have five different points of interest I want to survey with drone borne lidar, I need to tack each of those areas with a target reference? I am talking about a mile in between the furthest points...thanks in advance...hey I just thought about it...perhaps I can tack those reference points one day and come back another day to LIDAR it up...no time constraint just a proof of concept over a study area I collected volcanic rock samples.

As others have mentioned in your videos, this is really really great information that I can't find anywhere else. Keep it up! One question/request I would have is to know your drone fleet and software setup. For example I am very curious about the laptop you use, is it a System 70 type machine? Either way, I'm looking forward to the content you continue to create!

Hey Mo! It is a system 76! But it is a bit overkill. We needed this laptop for a deep learning A.I. project I was leading. One of the teammates really wanted to deploy all the models in real time. But now we figured out how to do this using a little computer the size of a credit card
