Really enjoyed the extra vids,Jack... I come from a long line of driver family.. My Grandfather had a old Bulldog that my Dad learned on at the young age of 16.. After his Navy time (joined up at 17yrs old) he came home to drive. .making a good living back in the day.. My brother drove in Army.. My xhubby drove for many years,just retired a couple years ago.. My son started with Schneider out of NC..Went onto being a Owner Operator for Atlas.. Got called back into Military Service,has since retired.. All my uncles were drivers too. Even had a couple female Cousins to drive... Watching the road with your driving has been great. I miss those times of jumping in the truck, an hitting the hiway with family. . Am I right,home base is Florida ? My Dad was a true Floridian. .born & passed on now.. I grew up in Miami.. born & raised 1951.. Living in GA, no reason to be back to Florida. . My you keep it between the ditches. . Blessings to you on that long road.. Always... PJ XO

Hi Jack...A Tip i came across a while ago in regard "Mud Flaps" getting ripped off and damaging the brackets, is to cut 'Slots' in them with a 'Hack Saw' (or Stanley Knife?) above the Bolt Holes so they will just pull off rather than wrecking the holder brackets as well. And possibly not to have them bolted on too tightly so they will just pull off!. Hope that might help?. Another great Video!!.

I lived in Phoenix for 15 years and I laugh every time somebody tells me that a hundred degrees is not hot. I think some people just don't feel the heat and don't sweat. You are fortunate. Camión con Davidios!
@tomswinburn17786 жыл бұрын
Cruiser, I live in Houston, but have spent time in Phoenix, as well as other desert communities and the sticks too. Houston seldom hits a hundred degrees, but for ME it's far worse than the desert. Yeah, you do sweat in the desert, but because of the extremely low humidity the perspiration evaporates instantly, by absorbing body heat which is then carried away in the air. Works exactly like air conditioning. Removes the heat from the body and releases it where not objectionable. New Orleans is even worse. For me the desert in summer is a far better place to be than any place the air remains saturated. Desert cools rapidly once the sun goes down. In areas of high humidity the air cools slowly, often not dropping temperature significantly over the entire time it's dark. I'm comfortable in the desert as long as the sun doesn't hit me directly. When that happens I'm an egg sizzling in the pan. Wear a hat. Not a ball cap, a full brim hat. And (believe it or not) long sleeves. Or stay in the shade.

Jack you guys all seem to idle your engines while resting? Is that the norm? Almost unheard of in Australia.
@indianajack6 жыл бұрын
If people don't have a generator or an APU they idle their trucks to stay warm in the winter or cool in the summer. How do you guys control this?
@bradadams82176 жыл бұрын
Idling of trucks is monitored by most company's here and a driver idling for 7 or 8 hours wouldn't be tolerated, even for 1 or hours. You just learn to sleep in the heat. Cold is easy blankets and a Quilt does the trick. Most now have some sort of off engine cooling system Viesa is the most popular www.viesa.ca/products.asp?pid=59 I just got a new truck last month a it has a Icepak 2000 www.icepack.com.au/ it's my first sleeper cooling system. And a lot of places where we load and unload if you are on dock they take your keys for safety so you can't run your engine anyway.
