The speedway is such a magical place to me. If you’re a racing fan even international you know the significance of IMS and the 500 in Motorsports history. More racers have died in Indianapolis than any other racetrack in the world so it’s also a tomb of some kinds in a way. There’s always a solemn energy that is overpowered by the roars of the engines.

Payton yes it is such a cool place and as someone who didn't know alot going in it was amazing to get that sense of magic and history on the VIP tour. I would love to see a race there.

I was just joking with the song I typed below. That would be funny background music while he ran the dirt track. Anyway that museum basement is a car guys area 51!!!!! OMG!! Lock me down there for a day! I was surprised 2 👀 a top fuel dragster down there. All the indy 500 pace cars from the late 70's to last indy 500 are down there. I need to go look at that again.

Yep, wearing a freaking mask when you're out in the fresh air really makes sense. Make sure you keep it on in your car too! SHEEEESH!!
@Run50StatesMyWay2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your concern. This video was shot in April 2021 and the requirements were to wear a mask on the tour. We were following the recommended guidelines and restrictions of the locations visited.

Cool video... just so you know, those ARE NOT the original bricks at the start finish line. When the track was repaved in the early 2000s they tore up the originals and replaced these you see here. The way you can tell? look at photos of them in 1980s and look at them in 2010s. In the 1980s you can clearly see the originals were cracked, weaving lines and discolored from age. These here are perfectly aligned and laid. .... Anyway, as I said cool video.

No, they have a ton of original bricks in storage and thats where the bricks came from. They are "original bricks" just not the bricks that were originally in that spot.
@patrickberlier882 жыл бұрын
3.2 million were made and placed here in Indiana ,yes those are the real bricks from the original track but most have been paved over throughout the years .
