Ram Mandir: The Bittersweet Journey Of Ayodhya Residents Amidst Redevelopment

Ram Mandir: Preparations are at full swing in the temple town of Ayodhya as the city gets a makeover for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir on January 22. Redevelopment projects worth crores of rupees are in the pipeline as the city transforms to accommodate devotees who will visit the newly built temple. On the other hand, road widening projects are resulting in demolition of parts of shops and houses, the compensation for which is unfair according to the locals. The panchkoshi parikrama marg is the 16 kilometer stretch around the Ram Mandir which is being widened. We speak to the locals whose houses fall on the route and this is what they have to say.

Be gracious in giving compensation especially to women and elderly. But the issue is many of these people may not have papers. “My children are not educated” - that is the root cause that needs to be solved. Or what will I do if i cannot do farming - meaning no skilling to do other jobs. Another major issue that needs to be tackled. Are these people even aware of all government schemes out there? If not, that is a major problem again. Compensation alone will not solve anything. The farmers who got good compensation when their land was acquired for Jewar airport spent all the money on alcohol and cars. And now they are broke. People should be handsomely compensated or government should identify some parcel of land nearby (within 10-15 kms) and make a colony for them, establish that colony well with all modern amenties and give them land in that colony as per their original land or even better build them houses so that atleast they a new and good place to stay in a new colony and they don't repent the development of ayodhya at their cost.

So, Now I know why BJP lost the seat from faizabad. Here are the details - 1. As per 2011 census Muslims are 29% in this area so we can assume 10% rise in their population, and as we know that community donot vote for bjp.. 2. The prices in ayodhya started skyrocketing before building the temple even the land prices of places far from the temple, the compensation other people get was not sufficient for them to buy land and build a home near ayodhya, as the prices started skyrocketing. As I saw advertisements of buy plots and the prices of those plots were like the prices as we have in noida, greater Noida, highly expensive.. 3. Akhilesh candidate saw an opportunity and divided the poor Dalits who suffered the most saying bjp will amend the constitution and Dalits will have no jobs reservation. 4. So, when someone who donot have home, not having hope for job will not vote for bjp. They will vote for them who will show them hope for survival... 5. Thats all.
