It’s true hati n ang puso ko kc my sons are born here n I have grandkids now n ma miss ko n the medical is very good here but 😮. After spring and summer i feel very lonely you children n grandchildren are are working n goes to school you have nobody to talk to not like back home all year round you don’t have to bundle up to go outside but here in Canada you feel safe coz not to much crime back home is not as safe 😢so it’s kind a in between and when your old it’s hard to travel but you’ll be cared by your love ones in your own home just don’t get sick haha!! My parents did the same but in the end I moved back to Asia because I couldn't see my future in Canada. And you're right, there is a huge tradeoff. My father was a high level executive in Makati with a corporate expense card and played golf with clients but in Canada he worked at McDonald's cleaning toilets, bartender and in the end he retired as a mailroom clerk. Today I only want to remember my Dad the Corporate Executive and not my Dad the Mailroom clerk.

I'm from Calgary Alberta, I relate sa comment nyo Po we have business back sa Pinas our family ok naman Po but I decided to try magabroad 17 yrs here sa Canada until now Wala Po pagsisi and I help my whole family (mom, dad, sister, brother and cousin) to come here and settle sa Canada. Mahirap sa umpisa pero later on all your hardwork Payoff. Takes years ung hirap need mo lang magtiyaga and God will help you the rest. For me I don't regret coming here. Dito ko na complete Ang buong family ko and even parents are retired they have fun bonding with their apos they get benefits here from health care insurance and allowance from Govt. Goodluck kung sino man magtry sa Canada.

I live in the US but I have a relative, my niece’s son just graduated from college but wants to work in Canada. He has started his application to study in Canada for the next two years. My question to you is, that is if you know, the guidelines in sponsorship and whether he/she can have more than one sponsor, are the sponsors equally responsible.

It really is difficult to leave behind all that was part of your life but new beginnings give us opportunities to advance ourselves. An advice I would give to those who migrate with college degrees is to research what it would take to be licensed in your profession abroad. Some places only require taking a test, others require going back to school for a year or so. Yes, it means sacrificing and working hard as a student but it pays off handsomely when you become licensed. Another advantage of working abroad is that it gives you the means to retire comfortably in the Philippines if you choose to go back because your pension is so much more than what you get from being a retired worker in the Philippines. Thank you for asking real life questions, the answers will surely be helpful to those wondering if migrating is worth it.

imo, usong uso yang international students dito. yan ang pathway na pinakamadali to enter canada but pinakamahirap i convert to permanent residency especially on the introduction of CRS. Your age is of great disadvantage because 45 yo will not get any point on CRS. try mo job offer thru work permit esp in atlantic province. nag research ka about CRS That was introduced around 2012.

It's not true that millionaires in the Philippines would go bankrupt if they get sick. Far from it. First of all there's Phil Health, 20% senior discount and rich people can easily afford private Health insurance. My Uncle who had aneurysm ended up at Makati Med for major surgery and stayed there for two months. He's not a really rich guy but he was able to pay for all hospital bills and medicine. He recovered at home and had a full time nurse, maid and two male attendants to take care of him in his remaining years.

What they dont understand is sa home care/ shelter facility scheduled yung meal plan nila, may nagpapa ligo, nag bibihis at nag momonitor ng kalusugan nila mabilis sila madadala sa hospital pag may sakit sila. Eh sa pinas? may mag haha-in ba sayo dun araw araw? may mag papaligo ba sayo doon araw araw? dadalhin ka sa mga burnik na hospital doon sa mga probensya na kahit tylenol wala sila mga hospital na nag si-share pa ng bed tapos i-isang ceiling fan para sa 50 pasyente. Mag isip isip kayo manong. Tatae kayo sa diaper niyo sa pinas baka after 3 days pa kayo lilinisan ng mga kamag anak nyo dahil busy din sila.

Yawn. My uncle in Paranaque lived at home with full time nurse, two live-in male attendants to carry him to the bathroom and drive him around plus a maid. We ain't all poor in the Philippines. Try getting this type of full time dedicated home service in Canada, I bet you can't even afford a live-in katulong. As for senior homes in Canada, they now have to put two to four seniors per room because of lack of space. It's rare now to have your own room as there are so many Baby Boomers retiring. Sharing a room IMO is the most pathetic and degrading way to spend the remaining years of my life.
