I'm a catholic who prays for forgiveness for all the utter nonsenses followed by our church. Only God is worthy of worship.. nobody else can receive our prayers and messages. It's against the holy law.. still our churches encourage praying to saints, angels, holy sacrament etc. When pointed out, our priests will simply say that these thoughts are created by 'evil spirit' instead of any proper reply.. The orthodox, marthoma churches have a good system where saints are not prayed to.. please stay in this right path and follow what christ has taught us. Please don't start promoting Saint system.. all the saints were great personals with grace and gods special touch, but they are always humans. Give them all the respect. But remember that once they have passed away, they cannot pray for us. Pray to God, He shall listen to you and reply. Please..

But I cant agree with that statement in which you meant that once if a faithful is departed, they cant worship God. Well they can. I am from Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. Ours is an Orthodox Church but we avoid intercession to Mother Mary and Saints and praying for the departed souls. But at the same time we uphold the concept of 'Communion of Saints'. Church is a mystical body, consisting both the Living and the departed. Just as the living faithful live in this World, so do as the Departed faithful live in Christ at another World. During Worships, especially during Holy Qurbana, these two Worlds unite in worshipping the Divine Creator. Its the Syrian Church concept. But our Church sees the communication between these two Worlds is a Mystery. So intercession to Saints and Praying for the departed is just 'avoided' in our Church. We are not against it anyway. We do respect the Saints and Love Mother Mary, honouring her as the Mother of God, upholding the Orthodox Doctrines.

I am orthodox, but clearly you don't know Catholicism learn church history, and the church fathers people have been venertating Saints for 1500 years even the apostles asked mother Mary to pray for them when she went to heaven. Stay in the Catholic Church you dont anything about history, the church concils, church fathers, etc. People dont worship men only the trinity, but they are with us, and pray for us and it says so in the Bible. We don't need this Roman Catholic Nun adulated in front of Orthodox as a source of Indian pride. She remained Roman Catholic therefore Schizmatic. Although the Ashram is working smoothly and well - never forget that the Roman Catholic Church is one big, large corporation instead of being part of the Original Church. The fruit is the result of the roots of the tree the fruit came from. It's the advice of the Holy Fathers through the ages that Signs do not confer everlasting holiness to those while they still live on earth; this is why ORTHODOX monastics never have been suddenly manifesting such stigmata; we go the humble way and fight illusions and passions until the dying breath. We are the true and complete Faith; you don't know what demons will do a person's body even if she was drinking holy water or meditating in an Orthodox tomb. Demons have been getting smarter and smarter even up until the last days and are well known to partner with people in prayer, promising them this and that will happen as sign of God's favor. This is totally unnecessary! Also take note that Tuesday is never a day of fasting known within the Orthodox Church. Her Tuesday - Friday schedule of bleeding is totally off. We also do not "marry" our nuns to Christ, EVER. Not with wedding ring during tonsure, so, the "marriage to Christ" that Roman Catholics do to their nuns is one portion of heresy that invites demons to come and do things to divert attention away from Holy Friday services and onto some person rolling and bleeding on the floor "like Christ".Holy Fathers knew remembered and witnessed very well the Pagan peoples marrying humans to Idols during public services, and decided that this will never happen to our people; our Christ was never married to anyone during His Life. Our Qurbana is the "bloodless" sacrifice performed by Christ in the Temple once and for all; no need for women or men for that matter to fall down rolling and bleeding in pain in order to confirm that Christ is in us! These should remain our apologetics despite whatever strange manifestations and guru followings occur around us.

Yes, I am a proud faithful of Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. We were once ridiculed as Protestants because of our Purification in the Malankara Church. But in reality, we uphold the earliest faith of the Church. We do uphold the true Oriental Orthodox Faith.
