this Route Karjat Panvel was earlier used only for goods. then a few trains like Pragati express were introduced on this route which bypass Kalyan but let passengers from Harbour section to get the train easily for pune and beyond. now plans are already in action for line doubling between Karjat and Panvel with work on plenty of new tunnels already in progress.
