In a significant move, a United States military plane carrying 205 Indian nationals has departed from San Antonio, Texas, for Amritsar, Punjab, marking the first deportation of Indian migrants since President Trump returned to office. This action reflects Trump’s hardline stance against illegal immigration. India, in response, has confirmed its readiness to accept deported nationals following proper verification, a position conveyed by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar during his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This comes just ahead of PM Modi’s planned visit to Washington on February 13.

The biggest joke is that when Indians who violated the American border were deported to India by a US military plane, India silently accepted it. But the Indian government shamelessly stood up for Indian fishermen who forcibly violated Sri Lankan maritime borders and opposed Sri Lanka. The Indian government's always-talked about neighbors first policy is a joke. What is surprising is that India accuses Sri Lanka of bringing an elephant donated by Thailand to Sri Lanka years ago on a US military plane based on the goodwill between the countries. It is because of these duplicitous foreign policies of Indian governments that Sri Lankans never trust Indian governments.

But thousands of Indian fishermen forcibly enter Sri Lankan waters every day, causing millions of losses to the Sri Lankan economy and plundering marine resources. Indian fishermen are also causing serious damage to Sri Lankan oceans through the bottom travel method. The shameless Indian government is protecting the theft of its fishermen and pressuring Sri Lanka for this. Indians have no shame.
