my favourite ancient civilization never ceases to inspire awe in my imagination! to think that these peace-loving people who loved the arts, fashion, and travel, had no standing armies, no amassed weaponry, and very little social hierarchy, makes them unique in the 'ancient world' and worthy of our most careful study!

Who was there in India before 5000 or 10,000 years ago ? Much before the Harappans …. I am really interested in the times when we were not civilized… cause I believe civilization is just our way of describe culture … even pre harappan ppl might have their own social structures … the reason that interests me is because if we go that far the all of the current social divisions get obliterated and we reach an age where we were not yet divided … atleast not along the current social and religious norms

Nomoskaar, adab arz hai, hello :-) Having watched the first two episodes that have been released thus far, on the one hand i feel as if i have gone back to school after many a years for a much-needed relook at the history of our Subcontinent as it has been down the centuries and in a way at my own past stretching back several thousands of years, into times that my sociocultural memory can't help me remember any longer as i go about my daily life...and on the other hand - on the basis of that very feeling - that this series should turn out to be an essential viewing for us all living in today's supercharged and thus chaotic sociopolitical climate in India, putting everything into perspective through the eyes of history, which should calm down us all, phew! i therefore send my warm congratulations and compliments to everyone involved in coming up with this wonderful and well-timed initiative - thank you. Just watched first episode as someone told me about this series. But though well presented, information is not backed by research. There was no invasion, migration from central asia. Vedic culture was developed by indeginious people. DNA evidence from skeletons of Rakhigadhi analysed by Ancient DNA Birbal Sahni Institute, Lucknow clearly establishes this fact with minor Irani trace.

I've disliked and found Indian history the most difficult for it's innumerable dates and names in the vast canon of Indian history which has to be very accurate for board examination. But I didn't feel the same with World History or British History, American History and European history during my College years and I enjoyed reading even my reference book lists. When I watched these episodes you seem to clearly read my mind that I faced during my school days. Watching this just revives my interest in Indian history. Our centralized examination system and competitive examinations are really restraining and ruining the students from gaining access to scholarly books to read, quest and find higher knowledge.
