I wanted to answer a few of your questions and respond to some things you said: • The original song is a classic called “Nim Him Sewwa” (same name), and is sung by legendary Sri Lankan singer Pandit W.D. Amaradeva. His music is renowned across Sri Lanka, and he is known as the ‘Maestro of SL music.’ He sadly passed away a few years ago in 2016, and so this is sort of a tribute. • The original song was written in both Sinhala and English. English is a big part of Sri Lanka. It is one of the three official languages (along with Sinhala and Tamil), and also there are many Sri Lankan’s who trace their roots to England due to colonization. So there are many Sri Lankan’s (known as Burghers) who primarily speak English. This is why they included the English part; not necessarily for a Disney touch, though the instrumentation does sound like that. • The first female artist you saw was Umaria Sinhawansa, who you know very well 😂 • Second female artist was Shashika Nisansala, who is also a highly respected Sri Lankan singer with classical training from India • The first male artist you saw is named Santhush Weeraman. He along with the piano player (Bathiya Jayakody) make up a musical duo known as BnS (acronym for Bathiya and Santhush). They are extremely popular and well-regarded in Sri Lanka, and are the only SL artists signed with Sony Records and Universal India. They have sung songs in the past with Asha Bhosle, Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, etc. They also discovered Umaria and made her famous along with her sister Umara. • The short male artist with the spiked hair is Kasun Kalhara and is also very popular for his vocal talents. • These 5 are the judges for the currently airing season of The Voice of Sri Lanka, so this was also a promo video. You have to listen to the original. It's nearly half a century old. It is very hard to replicate that quality provided Pandith Amaradeva sings it without percussion instrument. The English version is sung by Desmond Silva. It's music of late Nimal Mendis, who was a Sri Lankan British composer. The five singers in the song are five judges of Voice Sri Lanka reality show. Original song is sung by late veteran singer Master Amaradeva who is a Shantiniketan student during 40s. Master Amaradeva is considered to be the foremost singer in Sri Lanka and all the songs of him were written by very beloved and veteran writers in the country, most of them are no more. English song is the original. A very old one. Then late Pandit Amaradhewa sang the old Sinhala song. Then this the best remake up to now.

This is not true. Nimal Mendis wrote it in English especially for the movie "Seethadevi". Augustus Vinayagaratnam translated it to Sinhalese so it can be used in the film. Desmond de Silva in the mean time sang the original.
