The idea that cutting government spending will cause a recession is just ridiculous. In fact it's the opposite. Government over spending has caused inflation and we're probably in a recession right now. Cutting government spending will reduce inflation which will in turn benefit consumers giving them more money to spend. Plus Cutting taxes would also give them more money to spend. So no cutting government spending will not cause a recession.

It's so strange that people who we turn to, for the advanced math regarding the economy, always revert to the most simple math imaginable. They don't do anything dynamic in their analysis. I have no doubt in what you are speaking to, their assumption is the federal workers who lose their jobs, will never work again, and have to live out there days on welfare. Ridiculous.

IMO you are right we are all connected.. the whole world needs the same things-if one person suffers and goes hungry then the whole world is lesser for it- we all should be more easily satisfied and grateful for having our needs met and if any person suffers we all need to help them-we can all do a little more to make this world a better place for everyone I think-Peace and Happy Thanksgiving Day from Vermont, USA

I voted for Trump because I want him to put the world in order. For far too long the world has been living off my tax dollars. When the world is scared, I am happy. I am tired of funding everything and protecting everyone. I have some food ready to watch the world go nuts in January 2025 when Trump returns to the White House. It's going to be fun.

That's a "interesting" conclusion, with the current economic path of diminishing US production of goods, and a increase in imports, all while the US government spends something like $4 for every $1 taken in taxes it's unsustainable, and real changes need to be done before the US goes bankrupt and crashes the world's economy. Perhaps real even free trade with allies is a good thing, and make it difficult for those countries who use predatory economic policies is in order. The US economy has been run with the idea that the US should have it's economic wealth redistributed throughout the world, which can only be done but so long until the economic fountain starts to run dry.

If the US insisted on free trade, we would not have any trading partners. People are up in arms about tariffs, while American goods are subject to tariffs, everywhere in the world they can be found.

@Tijuanabill the best option is fair trade with allies, but if your allies don't act like allies then temporary tariffs should be done. Countries like China who have predatory trade practices, business should be encouraged to "invest" in the US through tax and regulatory policies, and heavy tariffs on goods coming from a predatory county. Free trade is good, but stupid trade is just that.
