It was a show with a continuous story in the beginning, but it later became a sitcom show where each episode was not related to the previous one. I don't know how it stayed entertaining for hundreds of episodes but used to wait for the episodes in childhood. You should definitely watch some more episodes. Momo (the most iconic character of this show) hasn't even been introduced yet.

The real show starts when Momo enters. Without Momo, this show wouldn't be the same. Also since you guys decided to give a chance to old dramas try checking out the "Barat" series which starts out with "Azar ki ayegi barat". Its sequel "Dolly ki ayegi barat" is the best in the series, followed by "Takey ki ayegi barat".
