While responding to a question he said, in earlier days Hindu Muslim riots even if Muslims killed or raped Hindus, nobody took names, but nowadays media is taking Muslim name. This means if Muslim rapes its ok. He is secular. But if media questions as to why did he rape, then they are communal. The media usually used to say that there was violence between two communities, which was done to ensure that people unnecessarily did not develop prejudices towards someone. However, nowadays, the media is quite keen to take the name of some people. You can check how a reputable news agency like ANI shared fake news in its hurry to take the name of a particular person, and the same is true for media outlets like OpIndia. None of this implies that someone doing evil is secular or that they should not be questioned. However, their identity is not one-sided.

I do agree that he was once Veer, but the man who came out of prison (do keep in mind that he deliberately chose the path of violence, and there were others who chose to remain instead of writing six mercy petitions) had been corrupted morally and intellectually. His idea of a Hindu is almost entirely political. As an atheist, he obviously found little value in spirituality. All he did was to conveniently link nationality with a particular religion and then claim that there was another nation that had to be compelled to live in the same territory. Dr Ambedkar rightly called his position "illogical" and "dangerous" for the safety and security of India ('Pakistan, or, The Partition of India'). Mr Savarkar's divisive ideology contributed to the partition of India. While he was busy doing things like conspiring to assassinate the Mahatma, asking the Hindus to help the British during the second World War to crush the Quit India movement, people like Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Nehru were in prison. Both of them willingly gave up lives of comfort and luxury. Mahatma Gandhi risked his own life to save people in Noakhali and Calcutta, and Pandit Nehru did the same in Delhi. However, Mr Savarkar was not there. Mr Savarkar's ideology will cause unimaginable damage to both Bharat and Sanatana Dharma. While people like Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Nehru fought for the Vedāntic pluralism of Swami Vivekananda, Mr Savarkar did everything he could to undo it. Sadly, our so-called liberal opposition parties have reduced people like Pandit Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi to mere statues. Their ideas have been neglected in favour of appeasement, corruption, and an unending thirst for power. Mrs Gandhi started all of this, and the rot has not been fixed yet. Nevertheless, it remains my conviction that Mr Savarkar is India's (and Hinduism's) most dangerous विकृति. If we don't wake up, then we will pay a heavy price (if people openly praising Mr Godse, a centuries-old place of worship being demolished in Delhi, young children being encouraged to say hateful things, an RPF constable specifically targeting some people, some immoral individuals being garlanded, and a man in Haridwar openly calling for harming others not being punished for years is not enough). This does not mean that we can ignore the other side. Abrahamic religions do need reforms. But we will not do anything meaningful by becoming what we once opposed. Kabir, Maulana Madani (whose descendant recently spoke about the unity of Allah and Om), Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Raskhan, and Maulana Azad also existed. May you have a good day!

These are token terms for appeasement, nothing else. If you read Fundamental Rights, DPSPs - you will realize our Constitution already has the essence of being secular and socialist. Also, Originally, certain segments of Constitutional provisions were meant for that purpose -- that too socialist tendencies were in DPSPs, left to govt to implement when appropriate. Forcefully putting them in Preamble is a desperate vote catching attempt. The illusion these terms have created is astounding. If one is to analyse the figures like number of riots, deaths and injury, damage to properties etc ..arising from religious conflicts ...the figures are very much higher during the many years of congress..During those times..we had genocides ..and many ongoing civil strives and wars..like in J&K , the north eastern states etc....But today due to social much of the problem...though on a very limited scale..the publicity is enhanced....Nowadays, we hardly see these types of religious strife...besides the one in manipur ..which was a tribal conflict ..

The worrying fact is these liberals speakers made the debate about Muslim vs Hindu ( left all other religions) rather than talking abt secularism as whole. There are crimes against Hindu and other communities too but they neglected it.

I agree on the fact that secularism was fair and square in the past. We could see the minority religions living in peace. But, I also agree to the fact that after the modi government came into power, we could observe abolishment of some impractical laws practiced by certain religions and also quotas were provided to certain minorities. I won't be commenting on the facts based on the history of a particular person because I feel that we should be commenting on the present scenario. Dragging myself to the point, as in todays scenerio of a seculred India, it is shocking to see the open condemnation of a minority religion, some are fake videos but most of the condemnations and the brutalities are legit and hearbreaking to watch. Nonetheless, if justice prevails to those victims and the culprits are apprehended and dealt with according to the constitutions of India, I will call the present India with pride and honour, a seculred country. But, alas! The constitutional rights doesn't apply to the majority of the minorities facing those criticism and brutality. I am making a statement, " there are only a handful of Hindus in India who really believes secularism is dead and the brutality and discrimination of it will continue even in the nearer future". The handful may consist, the opposition leaders having a political agenda, but I also believe that it includes intellectual Hindus thinking on the future and protecting the infringement of the constitution of India. So, as far as I can see, brutality and condemnation of minority have been monetized by certain organisations because of the fact that no legal actions have been taken so far but the alarming issue question is, " Why are they not scared of indulging themselves in such hideous crimes?". Don't you think mass majority of the Indians would be put to pressure before carrying out such activities as we have a constitutional law that protect us all. In conclusion, It is my believe that the actions of the public are inspired by their leaders.
