@markmatson Actually, it has been researched that the people from Finland and Japan could be related, because not only the languages match, also do their behaving styles! I found it really interesting as a Finn by myself, and as I have studied Japanese I can tell that they really are similar.

I'm from Colombia, and I believe Latinamerican Spanish and Suomi have very similar pronunciation (we also say "we write as we pronounce"). We share vowels (a, e, i, o, u) but we don't have ä or ö nor long vowels.

I think that article was posted right after the Nightwish/Indica tour in scandivatia. So in december or start januar. And there wasnt really a follow up on the article (for my knowledge). So its not that likely too be true. the article also quoted Indica's manager, who said something about they only had a professionel relationship (which later turn out to be the new Indica album, for which Tuomas is the producer). that is what i hear, but i am not finnish so i am only ref. to another translation

@Bacel Smart Finns can figure it out by context. Back in the days of 7-bit some replaced ö with |, ä with { etc. So "tkö an välin" became "tk| an v{lin" but some just gave up and typed "tko an valin" in casual contexts.
