My all time favourite indie game is To The Moon. They released it on Switch a little while back with a huge graphics overhaul, essentially remastering it. Makes me cry every time I play it because of the incredible story ❤

YES!!! It has the most beautiful emotional storyline that WILL make you cry and it beautifully represents autism. It's only 3-4 hours long as well so a super cosy game ☺️

I can't tell you just how much I related to NITW, it was way too close to home but it's absolutely one of my all time favourites, same with a short hike and oxenfree! if you like oxenfree I also recommend Afterparty by the same studio

This was a nice list! Indie games are great. I’d recommend TOEM which is a chill game where you take pictures, have nice tunes and go on an adventure. And for a more emotional gut punch type one I always recommend What Remains of Edith Finch.

I've never played TOEM but I watched my partner play What Remains Of Edith Finch. I've also had Dear Esther in my library for years and still not played it yet.

Oooo, definitely some interesting ones in there that I should try. Definitely need to give Night in the Woods a play and then Manual Samuel looks hilarious!!! I do love a good indie game (also your hair is looking AWESOME 😍)!!!

Manual Samuel is sooo good! When I was working at Game and old work mate went to work for Curve (I think they're at Square Enix now?) and they gave me the code to chat to people about it. I still love it. It's so funny. 😅

I feel like as AAA/mainstream games become more expensive, inaccessible to many and full of toxic monetisation and corporate elements, like lootboxes and all that nonsense, people are more ready to jump into indie titles? Helps that they are far more accessible and easy to discover than ever ^_^ indie games have more room to be experimental and character focused as well, i feel? Like as AAA games trend towards always-online multiplayer elements, & some even decrying the death of single player, indie games can fill the gap and can take more chances with their storytelling and single player mechanics. 💖 Btw, out of curiousity, how did you like Everybody's Gone To The Rapture?

I was thinking that as well, I have always loved and preferred Indies for many reasons but lately it's more that I literally cannot even start thinking about AAA with how much they cost so I can only afford indies (which I tend to enjoy more either way so I'm more than happy with it)

That's definitely an eloquent way of putting it. AAA games on certain consoles feel very pro capitalist whereas Indies have more love and passion. As for Everybody's Gone To Rapture, it was my first walking sim and well... I think it's gorgeous. When it came out it was one of the first games I bought on my PS4 and it wasnt like anything I had played before. I'm really tempted to give it another play through soon.
