What an incredible movie about the transformation of a young mans life from one of being judgemental and critical to one filled with love and compassion for those less fortunate. He esteemed others higher than himself and really learned about the love of Jesus for people from all sectors of our society. Thank you to all who were involved in the production of this heartwarming movie,

@@patrickglenpatrick4480 No that's not the way to approach it, it places members mentally that they are under obligation to give, and that's not scripturally supported. There's a good example of how giving is given. From God himself it states in Exodus chapters 35-36 it gives the clue: Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose " heart moves him" you shall raise My contribution.... . There was tithing but that was to apply only to support the levitical priesthood. The early church (assembly) did sell their belongings and gave the proceeds, but they never felt they were obligated to do so, again the principal of how the heart moves one to give applied. Far better to have a minister give meaningful regular heart felt scriptural talks on the blessings that come thinking about the poor the homeless the sick or destitute. For sincere Christians the giving will come naturally and blessings to the giver will be rewarded by our heavenly father. Luke 6:38 - "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." Give and you receive for your giving good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.

Beautiful what your church does. God has heard your voice (prayers). Let's begin to Thank Him for what he's going to do. And while we "take heart and strength and wait on the Lord" (Isaiah 14:27) we will praise and Thank His Holy Name. Amen...

I was born and raised in Grand Rapids and remember hearing about and driving past the "cross" sign on the building of the Mel Trotter Mission. I knew it was a Mission of sorts, kind off like a church but never to this extent! I moved to Florida when in my early 40s and now live in Arizona. I just now stumbled across this movie and decided to watch it. I like movies with Dean Cain in it. This is truly an eye opener! All these years have gone by and I only now realize and know exactly what the Mission is all about and it's history. I am blown away!! I am now 76 years old!

I loved this statement from one of the Ministry workers: "You know what I love about this place? Nobody judges. It's just a place where we can all come with our brokenness, staff, guests, all of us. And it's where God puts us back together." We should all respect each other and help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Help make the world a better place.

Beautiful story of love and redemption. This is a message needed today more than ever, because there are so many young people, with a sense of entitlement who only care about themselves. I love the fact that when facing difficulties, everyone is the same regardless age, education, ethnicity, among others. Great job!

What an educational movie! My take away is not to judge people because you don’t know their story. Sometimes we live such sheltered lives that we are not aware of other people’s struggles. When you have been given so much it is easy to take it for granted instead of being grateful. If you are sick or injured, you suddenly value your health more than when you were healthy. So it is with everything. God help us to be grateful and kind to others.

No one who's Never been homeless (and there are those who do not want to be) will be able to relate to the humility, battles, struggles, etc., at All until you truly follow Jesus's path and are literally Without a pillow under your head, laying on the ground, winter time, heart beating so hard your entire body is pounding... Again, until you LIVE IT, and Not for just a few days, but longer, you cannot relate.
@Cheri-my6cu Жыл бұрын
I've noticed - it's a very Rare thing for Christians to talk about homeless people. I believe it's because the vast majority of "followers of Jesus" are Not brave enough to go through that part of Jesus the Christ's life. Which renders their relationship with Him (If they truly have one) void of a total and complete relationship with the One True One.

Many people can learn from some of these testimonials why there are so many homeless men, women, and children that are out there. I've met some out there that have a good heart & soul. They know what it's like to be broken and what it feels like to have our God put them back together again

Wow! This is an amazing movie. I've worked with teens for over 30 years, it's a harsh world they're facing today. We do our kids such an injustice by raising them in indulgence, without any expectations from them. Without teaching them the reality that they will have to earn their way in life, and take personal responsibility in life because nothing comes easy-- or free. Taking kids to work in a food bank, or to work with Samaritan's Purse-- packing shoe boxes for kids at Christmastime --affords them the opportunity to grow in compassion for others. 🙌🏼What an amazing story of God's redemptive work in hardened and hurting hearts. It's the perfect movie to share on a youth group night. 💓 Loved it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

@@selina2081I understand what you hold against them. But I think a lot of them serve their selfish ways, because of hurt & insecurities. If you feel loved, healed & cared for, you are more open to the needs of others... It's also our society (doesn't matter, if Germany or the US) that doesn't teach how to be kind, forgiving & give grace to others. We ourself should make a difference, practice grace & not be judgmental preaching to myself as well. Trying to be a rolemodel, so we can motivate others. 🤗 Wish u all the best

I also was spoiled & often self centered, but because of my own prisonwalls that I had build around me. Knowing & learning to love God, helps us to get rid of those walls & finally enables us to reach out to others. It might not be true to your niece, because she might not care about God. But I think a lot of young people deal with those enemies that they have built their life around without even questioning that way of life. I really enjoyed this movie. As well as a clear presentation of the Gospel, it showed us another side of life in the USA. Most Christian movies that I've watched show a luxurious lifestyle, but this one reminded me that even in rich Western countries there are people in need.
@najmabegum5789 Жыл бұрын
Beautiful!! If only all rich people played their part like this, there would be no suffering. People are so judgmental over homeless and unemployed, not knowing their story. And of course there's others who will rip off real homeless by begging to be homeless when they are not. It's so hard to support the right one. Also I often find people chucking perfectly good stuff like baby nursery stuff, shoes, clothes when they could easily take to local charity shops, 5 minutes drive, even though they have cars. Sad. My heart goes out. If only I could drive? I used to pick stuff and take them charity shops. With my health I can't now. If I had a car I would.
