Oh wow that was fantastic! I was hoping you'd break out some Gypsy stuff in your youtube 2.0 return haha. Such a great song. I saw Angelo DeBarre play an awesome version of this in NYC in the mid 2000s. I went home and tried to learn it straight away! It really falls under fingers when you use rest stroke/Gypsy picking, doesn't it? LOVE the tone you're getting outta that 335!! Kinda Marc Ribot-sey, but less brittle...your tone sounds more compressed and horn-like...buttery. What amp are you running? 2 songs in 2 days...wow...thanks for sharing man!

Thanks Floyd! I'll be doing plenty more gypsy jazz tunes in future, don't you worry! Angelo Debarre is one of my absolute favourites.. and like you say, a lot of the tone is in the rest stroke picking style. When I play this sort of stuff on an electric I tend to attack the strings a bit more gently but definitely still try to maintain the proper gypsy technique for the most part.. makes such a difference to the feel and bounce of the notes. Thanks for the kind words regarding tone as well. I'm a huge Ribot fan so you're right to pick up on that influence in there. This one was recorded through my Deluxe reverb.. it's an original drip edge silver face model from 1969 and it's an absolute dream. For this sort of tone I'm running a Decibelics Golden Horse (Klon clone) pedal set with the gain and volume at noon to take away some of the Fender sparkle and add some of those horn-like mids in.. works a treat! Thanks for watching Floyd. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few days. Hoping to keep adding new content :)
