This is a message of support from Gadigal Country in the land of the Eora people, which you know as Sydney. This message comes from the many Nations of the land you know as Australia. This song and dance is a calling to the ancestral spirits for their blessing in our journey forward. For water, land, sky, animals and plants. The original custodians of Australia, stand in solidarity with the indigenous tribes of America battling for peace in Standing Rock. The song is called Yama-witty Good Spirit - Whanjullah
Song man is Whanjullah
Dancers are Bidgigala and Dinawaan
Didgeridoo player is Yuinbula

As a Maori I support black Australia, but don't often get to see much Aboriginal culture so kia ora. As an indigenous person I thought this was very interesting. Our traditions are ancient but the city is so modern, dancing in traditional attire with the young fulla in 'western' clothing, whilst traditional instruments play against the backdrop of the city. Kinda says to me, the world will change but we will always be.

@Fimbulmyrk Жыл бұрын
@@colleen2671 Well, if we do not, I fear this planet, this beautiful jewel in the void, will become uninhabitable. And, contrary to common belief, the only sustainable approach is an indigenous one. It always was. Every single indigenous people we committed genocide to, instead of simply hating us, had warned us to change our ways, for more than 500 years. We are the blemish on the face of the earth - more than a thousand scientific studies worldwide state that. Albeit in different words. And I feel ashamed that all we come up with is even more industrialization. I have changed my ways long ago. In fact, I have little part in all that (I grew up in the woods and spent the most part of my life there). And I really do appreciate and very much respect your kind stand, and noone needs to be a saint, too. Yes, we could and should live here in peace, respect and love for this planet. Everything else would follow. And we could talk. Fact is, we white people talk a lot. I certainly do now. I have a lot to learn still. We talk about how technology will save us and that our leaders will save us if we lay everything into their hands. But we are just barking dogs just yelling "I am! Look! Look at me! I am!". Please do not get me wrong, I would love to live on a planet we all shared in, where we offered each other what it provides (and it provides richly). Our so - called civilization stands in the way of that. Sorry for the long comment. Lots of respect to you all.

This is beautiful. But I hope Australians are also aware of the nuclear factories that are going to be built into south Australia -3 and in Orange in nsw- SA Has already been effected by this and 1 in 3 Indigenous residents have cancer and unable to obtain cancer treatment due to the 2006 treaty which deemed them unable to gain access to medical needs if they have not been citizens of Australia in 1967 - they were dumping nuclear waste in 1964 being effected and having cancer prior to this ... Australia and America both need a deep cleanse
