Don’t discriminate against mixed natives. I’m mixed indigenous and I was born brown like my father but I have friends and family who are also mixed but have a lighter skin tone and people call them posers. If they can prove they’re indigenous then they’re indigenous

People on the comments are so ignorant. Indigenous people come in all shades. Educate yourselves. Judging other by skin tone is a colonizer concept.
@Milkdejean3 жыл бұрын
A colonizer mindset is white people tricking other into believing being Native American isn’t a race and denying mestizo’s right to claim their culture but allowing white likes these and yourself

Even though I was a registered member of my band since birth I was separated due to family in Residential School and tried for decades to have contact with my Nation, they did not ever respond. It's funding. It's greed. I lived in another town my entire life and that Indigenous Community did not include me either. When you are ghosted by your own people, sometimes you are forced to figure it out your own way. We need much healing in resolve to those Indigenous who have been displaced and are suffering. I still love your content and what you guys are doing. It has inspired me and taught me much. We all have much learning and growing to do as Indigenous people. BTW, I be part of a welcoming home ceremony soon. My HC's are good people and at 45 years old I am going home.

What is a Native American supposed to look like nowadays? Many Native Americans aren't full blooded. So yes you'll find those with white mixtures and Black mixtures like the Shinnecock tribe of New York.

@@bassemalfred2920 in the U.S. 70% of the native population is mixed, and as indigenous groups buck the blood quantum system, indigeneity is becoming more about tribal relatedness and culture. Even then, some tribes have adoption processes, where non-natives are adopted into the tribe. The Mohawks specifically have had a long history of this.

No, imagine these people with pale skin and blue/green eyes look like the very people that call us "prairie n word" "squaw" and "go back to your country" even though we're from here. Mostly or all of these peoples ancestors did atrocities to mine. They don't face racism strictly for the color of their skin or features. They need to speak about being mixed and let the platform for indigenous people to speak who are way more marginalized then they could ever be.
