Iranians don't consider themselves Arab?!! well because they are NOT ARAB. it is like saying Brits don't consider themselves Russian, just because they share religion and they look a bit similar, does it mean they are the same race? Iran or Persia is an ancient civilization whose main religion was Zoroastrian and the language is Parsi from the Indo-European linguistic family with lots of common vocabulary, grammar, and linguistics similarity to Latin and English. Iranian people are from the Aryan and European race and consist of several ethnicities including lur, Kurd, Azeri, Persian, etc, please do more research before traveling to a country. We (the US) overthrew Iran’s democratically elected leader in 1953 for oil interests. Now we are threatening to do it again, probably for the same reason. Trump ripped up the nuclear deal that Iran was actually following and has been waging economic war with his sanctions. The Iranian government is probably not great but in terms of global impact, it’s actually my government that is the world’s biggest terrorist as sad as that is. We have overthrown dozens of countries for corporate interests since WW2.

They have oppressed us for the past 40 years, taking away the most basic freedom of a person, freedom to speak, to wear what you want, to eat and drink what you wish and .... . US and CIA screwed us when they toppled the democratically elected government of Musadegh in 50s right after he decided to nationalize the oil! Then they installed a puppet, Shah who wasn't again as bad as the current Mullas but he was still a puppet. People though Mullas would be a better option than Shah! However they have more money and from my personal experience, I have find out government takes care of even the Shia minority in Saudi/. I have had Sunni and Shia Saudi friends overseas who had received luxury scholarships from Saudi government! Iranian government on the other hand has one and one goal, the keep the Mulla regime in charge and will do anything for it. Iranian government rebuilt Lebanon after their war with Israel and did a 100x better job than when our own cities goes through natural disaster, something that happens often! The well being of the people is not only something their are not interested, but it is also to a degree that some laws prevent you from the most basic freedoms such as wearing shorts or dancing in public! It is such as they don't want to see Iranians happy! It is an absolutely sicking theocratic regime!

Way back in 1970, I worked for PanAm airline. The crews would stay at the Royal Tehran Hilton. It was a gorgeous hotel on a hill overlooking the city. I’ll never forget the lobby which had a huge picture of the Shah, beautiful Persian carpets and white velvet couches. During one visit I met the famous Truman Capote.
