Bangaladesh creation,Banks nationalised ,green revolution (ending India's long depenendent on grain import),accelerating white revolution in milk production,India's first nuclear test,India's first missile test,India's first space program...this documentary failed to address those issues...beating around the political issues...when ever the govts after her had not taken any decessive steps people would fondly remember...if Indira Gandhi would be in that situation what she would do?...that's what the legacy she left...still in plain words in villages they use to say "these men are worthless before Indira Gandhi she ruled like queen and a TRUE patriot"...

Mrs Gandhi implemented several stern steps like bangladesh formation, winning war against Pakistan, banks centralisation, abolition of royalties to royals of india. But her aggressive power grabbing politics that led to emergency and her blind support to younger son sanjay for mass sterilization were her drawbacks and the factors going against her even today.

Mrs Gandhi leaves a complex legacy. On one hand, she was a strong leader who led Bharat through 2 wars, an adverse Cold War landscape, and a poverty-stricken Post-colonial nation. She was also irresponsible and created the mess that became the Punjab insurgency. Her treatment of Golden Temple was and remains barbaric and inexcusable.

Some misinformation regarding bluestar: Bhindrawale did NOT hold pilgrims hostage. The army deliberately invaded on an occasion where a lot of pilgrims would be present. The Sikhs had been asking for their rights years prior. He also was NOT a congress plant, this narrative is only to justify their actions that led to a failed operation. There is no way the indian govt can justify what took place in June 1984, they took TANKS to a holy site. The army did unspeakable things to the pilgrims inside to send a message. Indira Gandhi"s ego and pride led to thousands of innocents to die and left the Sikhs to demand for their own country forever. There is not much to admire about this lady.
