Mam in gate 2019 question which you had discussed ans is 6 but we have to consider 3 partcles during arrangement in energy levels not 2 hence first we have to determine the occupation no. possibilities and they will be { 1,2,0 } and { 2,0,1} and then after applying the formula for W= 3!/1!2!0! + 3!/2!0!1! comes out to be 6 . Thank you 🙏

It's a single particle energy level. So I one state there can be one particle only.

Maam last example me 3 particles arrange karne hai or non interacting single energy state particles hai to possible way banega hi nahi na jisme 3 no particles ho! Ans Zero nahi aayega maam?

@@prasadghadi1875 it is just mentioned that there are 3particles not ki 3 particles ko arrange krke we should get total of 2E energy...and we just have to concentrate on point that-total energy after arranging the particles =2E and each energy levelshould be singly occupied....

Ma'am in the last question (GATE 2019) the occupation no determination is not clear.. why is it (1,0,1), if we are taking 1,0,1 then we are ignoring one of the 3 particles and considering only 2 particles ?☹️☹️

Actually here 'single particle energy' means like this.... If one particle occupy any of this energy states then the corresponding energy will be 0,E, 2E. (0×1=0, E×1=E, 2E×1=2E)

In the last question all 3 particles being distinguishable, the {1,0,1} occupancy number should be different for any pair of particles. Though the value and sequence is same but shouldn't we consider them seperate?

Mam for the first question What if we arrange 4 particles in occupation no={1,3,1} It's also possible because if we a put 1 particle in 3energy level and 3 particles in 2energy level and 1 particle in 1energy level then ultimately it also give us total energy10 ∴total energy= 3+(2+2+2)+1 =10

Can you please upload the next part before 24th June 2021 ? Because I have paper on that day of the same subject . Our teachers didn't give us concept like you are giving . If you will upload the next part before 24 then it will help me a lot . Otherwise , it seems very difficult to understand the concept of partition function from anyone else .

For term symbol 3P2, W=number of microstates=degeneracy So J=2×2+1=5 If we want microstates then W=(2s+1)(2L+1)=3×3=9 Which one is correct?

There is one more possiblity to get 10€. One partical in 3unit, three parties are in 2unit and one partical in 1unit. And the ans will be 14 ,,
