I came back to tell you thank you posting this tutorial. This is one of the best methods of installs I have found that really works for me. When I did my twist this weekend I didn’t use your method and that was a big MISTAKE. I attempted to braid this hair in and then twist😕ummm the hair started to slip. I came home this evening and used your method to fix the twist that was trying to jump ship and omg I was able to get a closer grip on my braid, it took less time, and it looks so neat. No slipping and it was just a better experience then the fiasco I tried to do this weekend lol. You taught me how to twist my own hair extenstions with confidence. Thank you so much.

Oh my goodness I’m so happy that it worked out for you. Did you stretch your hair or did you leave it as is? I’m 4c and don’t add heat to my hair so I’m hoping that my experience won’t be tooo bad....
@NaturallyEngineered6 жыл бұрын
I blow dried my hair about a week prior to installing these twists. I'd say stretch your hair using another method just to take some of the puffiness away but the key will be finding a heavy creme that will make your hair lay smoother.
@HealthyGemini6 жыл бұрын
Lisa Pierce I am 4C as well and don’t use heat. I did stretch my hair by putting my hair in twist and banding with some ouchless bands the night before after I washed and conditioned my hair. I ordered the curl cream she suggested As I am curl creme for my ends the next time I do this because I tried to use Eco Gel on my ends but that did nothing to help my hair from sticking out. I also ordered the same hair she used for my next install because I want to see if it’s different then the Amazon hair I used on my hair. I think if you stick with her technique exactly as she does it in the video it will come out pretty. I have tried several techniques and this one was the easiest and best result I have gotten.

@NaturallyEngineered6 жыл бұрын
Yupdatschelle Not sure I’ll do a takedown video but it’s super simple. Just cut the twist right below where your hair ends, unravel the twist until you get to the root. Once the extension and your hair are separated just pull the extension on one end until it’s slides out. Then, take down the small plait you created using your hair and detangle. Hope this helps.

I did them this weekend and I don’t like them on me lol. Definitely not as cute as yours. This was my first time installing a full set of braids so I am hoping with time I will get better. Next time I am going to order this exact hair you are using and try that. I stretched my hair over night with twist and my hair is just so big and puffy so I think it changed the look for me. Did you blow dry first? I might need to do that to take down some of the bulk. I also need to get that wax you had for my ends for they just stick out like little Afro puffs in the braids for the eco gel did nothing to stop that. Other then that I love the springy look! TFS and one day I will master this just like you 😍❤️
@NaturallyEngineered6 жыл бұрын
HealthyGemini Oh, no! I hate when that happens. Spend all that time on your hair and not like like the end result. Been there! lol I think I blew my hair out a week before. The main thing is to apply a heavy creme that will moisturize your hair, taking some of the puffiness out. If your natural hair is dense, make sure your sections are not too small. Also, try using thinner pieces of spring hair. A little goes a long way. Try misting your hair with water and apply creme before you start twisting. This will help to smooth your hair out. The creme I used in the video is the only thing I had under my cabinet at the time, so I’d recommend using As I Am Twist and Define Creme. Install 4 or 5 twists until you’ve found the perfect size parting and amount of spring hair to use for each twist. Practice a few until you can visualize the completed look. Styling hair is about trial and error but I’m sure you’ll get it. Good luck!
