Why do you think because it's similar then it came from Indonesia? Just so you know, shadow puppetry came form India, then we Javanese call it wayang. That Kelantanese wayang in Malaysia? That didn't originate from Java, but Thailand. Only the name came from Java. Maybe some Javanese who move there visited Thailand one day and thought, hey this is similar to the play back home, we call it wayang. And so the Malaysians adopted it, but call it wayang. Who knows. Stop claiming culture to originate from Indonesia. Oh yeah, rendang? That's deeply influenced by middle eastern cuisine.

The fact that Tinikling is more popular than your gaba gaba because tinikling has been presenting by filipinos to different countries in USA (even americans dancing tinikling dance because there's a lot of filipinos there and presenting filipino culture in schools there u can watch it here on youtube, they prefer tinikling than gaba gaba), Europe, Asia and Australia and even presenting in SEA games 2019 opening ceremony. stop claiming indos that your country only had this traditional dance, why indonesians like to claim that everything belongs to them? and what do you mean that your gaba gaba is spread in Asia? @JaseekaRawr3 жыл бұрын
@@Kitkat_____ This is why I'm here watching this, actually. :) I saw some Indonesian women wearing niqab, so I was curious what their traditional dances/religions were before Arab/Islam influence. So it seems before Arab influence, there was Indian influence, lol. (All over SE Asia, really.) Many traditional dances before Islam influence seem to be Hindu, also mixed with Chinese/Buddhist influence(judging by the traditional music that accompanies those dances I've seen). So going even before Hindu & Buddhist influence, I wonder what the native myths/dances were like? I guess if you go back far enough, we're all just worshipping rain & the sun! :D As farming folk dancers, lol. I'm completely ignorant, admittedly, but these are just my observations. It's super interesting to learn about!
@Kitkat_____3 жыл бұрын
@@JaseekaRawr you can search for indigenous people in Cambodia. If you connect the Philippines map is literally to Cambodia. Also the long skirts before the Indian culture (Hindu/Buddhist) like the gold color or sari influence are all similar to NE Indian people, Taiwan aboriginal, indigenous of Cambodian and Vietnamese, etc. but before religion, the verdas from India migrated to East Timor. A lot of Indonesian have the Indian features. My mom told me our ancestors were from southern India. We are talking when the people were animist. Then srivijaya empire spread (I believe Hindu) and Buddhist (I don’t know the empire name) to thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. Those empires were Indian influenced. Mind you Buddhist religion is from India, not China. People seem to think it’s from China and most Indians didn’t know it was from India. Then the gongs instruments they use in se Asia. That’s from China influence. Visayan was from srivijaya. The people from Sumatra migrated to the Philippines because they didn’t want to be that religion. Also Brunei empire was not only in Brunei but part of the Philippines. Southern Philippines are Malays descents also because Brunei once ruled there. Borneo used to be split to 4 countries, now its 3.
