The Comparetto cube is legit. Been using one for two years now. Works great.

I’ve learned so much correct hvac teaching from big B and Craig M more than anyone and there’s a few good ones. He just has a voice and demeanor to teach. He is a gift to us guys, I don’t know when this guy sleeps? He is a gift. Thank you B, I hope you know how many techs and home owners you help. Ya’ll subscribe(it’s free and not hard to hit an extra button) and like his stuff. He has earned the love!

Thanks for mentioning the negative of merv13 1" filters on older HVAC equipment not designed for it. Our management does not understand that, plugs up 1" merv13 filters in about a month, then wonders why the air goes around the solidly plugged filter putting dirt on the ceilings

Great . thank a lot Bryan Orr. 3D video very helpful. I wish to make 3D video about static pressure diagnostics and airflow issues in duct system . blower door testing and leak test in duct systems. Best regards.🌷

@HVAC_School Plz do a video on mold / mildew growth in hvac systems 🙏 . We are having a huge issue with severe bacterial growth inside 2 - 3 year old houses / systems in texas. I want to make sure we are providing the right remedy and also I just want to better understand the causes... This would be a great help, love your videos btw!!!

Filter your HVAC system for dust (Merv8), filter the air you breath separately with HEPA/DIY solutions. You do not need to be putting a lot of strain on your air handler by blocking air flow with a high MERV filter (anything above 8 MERV). Make yourself a few Comparetto cubes and place them strategically through out the house. Use a Home Depot 20 inch Box fan and MERV 12 and up 4 x 20x25 filters. You will filter all the air in your house a dozens of times an hour and it makes for a clean room environment.

as for VOCs. Are things like cleaners and paints emitting VOCs even when sitting there in storage? or are you saying only when actively using them?
@joshuavia67903 ай бұрын
👃I'd give it the sniff test. If you can smell it, it's likely emitting VOCs.

Are UV-C lights in evaporator coil bad for air quality then, don’t most produce ozone?

Was waiting for you to mention formicary corrosion not sure that's spelled rite but I've dealt with that nightmare in the schools I work for. Custodians store,mix all their chemicals in the mechanical rooms that house ervs and heat pumps and they also clean out all their machines in there as well as store ice melt next to the units. Not sure exactly which products are causing all the refrigerant leaks. Voc's are responsible for more than respiratory/health concerns. Could be a video by itself. Good info though,all accurate stuff here guys

3:09 *please* do not say these things wothout the disclaimer that you can use *good* merv 13 one inch filters without issue. The ones that are junk generally will not have pressure drop info - that's all an hvac tech needs to know to select functioning options. My colleagues and I have had to waste so much ink and sweat arguing with uninformed folk about this. I know you know better - but we need to train new techs on facts, not generalization and myth.
@trevmint56153 ай бұрын
What brands show the pressure drop? I've avoided 1 inch filters due to the restrictions. So you recommend one?
@Ariccio1232 ай бұрын
@@trevmint5615 3m filtrete is the most consistent one. Really, what we need is a standard at the federal level much like the "lighting facts" label on lightbulbs. I've been meaning to petition the ftc about this - but petitioning federal agencies is kinda time consuming!
