My Spalding NBA is turning a darker brown. Never realized how razor thin the panels are. Not surprised though because it’s one of the lightest balls I’ve used. I do agree that the Wilson NBA shoots with a bit more weight behind it. Funnily enough, I just applied some leather conditioner to my Spalding after tens of hours of use, and that little weight of oil goes a loooong way in feeling the difference while shooting. I haven’t broken in my Wilson NBA yet but it definitely feels better out of the box. Panels definitely a little thicker than Spalding NBA. Can see why NBA players (especially vets) needed an adjustment period. It’s really a seams ball unlike the near-perfect spherical Spalding where the seams are as minimal as possible. Picking up a Wilson evolution while training with a true leather ball is a different experience. Sometimes you like the feel of the composite microfiber, and sometimes it feels like a cheap toy. Okay @JA23 Productionz now you're getting TOO GOOD with the breakdowns my boy because even you hipped me to something. I love that you call the Wilson NBA a more panels basketball because that's a great way to describe it. The Spalding is a perfectly shaped ball, which allows it to shoot and play well. But the Wilson is an actual basketball, which sounds weird to someone reading this but I know you know what I mean. What oil did you use on the Spalding? I've been thinking about adding a leather treatment to my Spalding because it's still bright orange. I've spent most of the time breaking in the Wilson naturally, but I want to speed up the process of that Spalding before it starts to crack.

@@lukamartinko2821 the next will not last you outdoors at all. I heard the Splading Zi/o is good for outdoors, you can also get 2 under armour 495s for the price of one basketball. Also, the Nike elite is better for outdoors than the EVO. The last Time I played outdoors, My friend had this lebron basketball that’s made for outdoors and everybody enjoyed the grip. All worth considering.

I must have watched this vid five times lol. I picked up a used Evolution and Solution. The evo to practice for pickup games and a solution just as my main practice/game ball. The evo deflates easily which I heard is common for old ones. Thanks for the knowledge again!

I have the Baden Rival .. during shoot around before we start pick up, folks will grab my ball from a rebound, touch it, spin it around, dribble it, shoot it and never ask for it again OR they see me shooting it hit or miss, pass it right back to me, LOL!!

@@Love2Hoop no they can't. Good ol' Wilson Evolution... It's 10 dudes shooting with the same ball, but all different shades, wear and tear, lol. Then, bros take 10 mins to try each ball while I'm still bouncing, shooting with my Baden, 😂. Although, going straight from Baden to Wilson to a live game, I do feel and see a difference in my shots. I have to shoot with the Wilson 5 mins before a game or dead ball when bros are arguing. 😂

That ball is probably one of the better basketballs to shoot with because it's feels the lightest of the group. You lose a little on the ball control because of that, but you'll be able to launch that thing without compromising your form from deep.

I always wanted a NBA ball, I might buy the Wilson when they release. I have Wilson Evolution, Baden Element, and Spalding Precision and the Wilson is definitely best but you have to go to the store and get a good one. They have all sorts of quality control issues.

How do you like the Precision?? Maaaan that Wilson consistency issue is REAL. I've bought so many of those basketballs, some have shaped like a ball, some shaped like an egg, some have all panels, some have panels peeling off. It's a great ball, but the consistency isn't always there.

@@Love2Hoop the grooves are really deep and it is kind of hard. I'm not sure if it would break in better later but it seems like it would take awhile. Also I don't like the air valve, you have to really force the needle in super hard I feel like I'm going to break the valve or needle every time.

What’s your opinion on The Rock C2C ball? The reviews I read are positive and the local D3 College uses it. I don’t get out and play I just go and shoot because of the arthritis in my knee. Awesome vids, keep up the good work.

Josh I appreciate the support champ! I actually like The Rock basketball. I don't think it gets a lot of love on the west coast, it seems more like a Midwest or east coast ball. Don't see a lot out here on the west coast

Man you are right on point about the Spalding, I have the official NBA Spalding ball, like you said expensive and when I'd bring it to the court guys would be like "WTH is this" and we'd switch to Wilson Evolution, only the really experienced guys like it. I'm not giving up the Spalding, however its 15yrs old, its turned that old-man leather brown and the dimples are a little smooth any suggestions on how to re-vitalized the leather?

Honestly with a basketball that hold, the leather is pretty much worn down. You could try using a leather conditioner to treat the leather to clean it, but at this point that chocolate Spalding is going to be what it's going to be.

For a soft touch and it needing to be outdoor the NCAA Replica might be a good pick for you. Has a soft feel, but is durable enough to handle outdoor play.

If you're talking Evolution vs. EVO Nxt I'm picking the Evolution. The NXT feels nice, the color grabs attention, but the weight is very different than the older ball which for me personally shoots more like a Spalding TF

150% brotha!! The Wilson Evolution is best bang for the buck, but my personal suggestion is the Solution. Your ball will stand out in the gym, plus get respect from the college/older players.

There isn't really anything that compares to the solution. The 1000 feels like the solution, but it doesn't shoot or play like it. The new NCAA Evo plays like it, but doesn't feel like a solution. The solution is a one-of-a-kind in my opinion.

Oooow okay finally a tough question 🤔 I would say that as much as I love the feel of the Nike Elite in my hands and off the shot, the consistency of the Solution makes it the winner. Hands dry, sweaty, wet, whatever the Solution is going to be pretty consistent. The Nike Elite doesn't have that IMO

Im tryin to find a ball thats not Crazy heavy like the evolution, but i don't know if its because my kids left my basketball (evolution) outside for some time. though ppl still choose to play with my ball.

No you're right, in comparison the Evolution does play heavier and I think it's because of so much composite leather to make it soft. I have no idea where your buddy found a Rawlings but that's some prehistoric hoop right there! The Wilson Solution might be a good idea for you: same feel and play as Evolution but a little lighter in my opinion.

Dave that's a looooong list Champ. If I had to choose one I would go Forge Pro because that'll give you the easiest transition from playing outdoor and still being able to use an indoor ball and not lose too much between the two.

Great question. Like most things, there is a point where the product is essentially performing as intended but that usually takes time. A brand new car runs best after say 10,000 miles because the car has had time to work out all the impurities. Same with a basketball, there is a top layer on the ball that protects the material during shipment and storage. Once you get that layer off the feeling of the basketball(s) is as intended or "broken in"

I’m not even that good I just practice shooting form around the court mostly and just to get a more fun way of getting excercise but I definitely prefer just in general for whatever I do I want the best tools for the job or atleast evolution/solution level I really want to grab an official NBA ball tho and even tho I’m basically trash I feel like training with the best quality is the way to go or if I play a game I want to play with the best quality possible.. shit I’m the type who will measure and mark the true 3 point distance in the gym and play NBA distance 3s I can’t play no high school 3s so I’m gonna walk in trash as hell with an NBA ball a tape measure and something to mark the distance lol

@Jonathan a real deal true basketball lover!! You sound like me champ, I want to play with the best possible tool (within reason of course) if I'm going to be serious about it. I'm starting to enjoy golf, but I'm not ready to buy a custom set of clubs, but I know that at some point I'm going to have to because I want the right tools if I'm going to be playing the game. IDK if an NBA ball is the best for you just because not everyone is going to want to play with it, but if you practice with that your shot is gonna be water with an Evolution or Solution. 👍

@@Love2Hoop Exclusively indoors I use it, and I feel silly showing up with a dirty looking baskball so I clean it regularly. I didn't connect this ball and it catching fire once its wet until a kid got some slurpee on it and I had to rinse it off. Sometimes it was so easy to control, and shot percentage picks up, I didn't realize that happened cause of my sweat. Winter here is dry af, so now I pour some water on it before I play. I love it because its fire once you get going, plus no one ever has the same ball so no thiefing. Still, first AND last ball with white I'll ever own
