Thanks everyone for tuning in to the first indoor rock climbing training episode! For this episode, I needed to create a baseline for myself in which I could build from. This is more of an advanced workout but I am sure you can get some good ideas as to how to incorporate some of these techniques into your own training. Please feel free to ask questions below and subscribe if you like what you see! More videos coming soon with beginner and intermediate training as well. This video was filmed at Evo Rock in Louisville, CO. I designed this training facility and am super happy with the result. It only needs a few more final touches before it is complete! Stay tuned for more on that and check them out on the web at: www.evorock.com/louisville-co/ Also, the majority of the training tools used in this video were made by: www.royal-edge.com/ www.tensionclimbing.com/ www.beastmaker.co.uk/ So make sure to give them some love as well! Awesome products by some awesome people. Thanks all and stay tuned for the next episode coming out soon... A Moon Board session with my buddy Jeremy!

When would you recommend that someone starts using a hang board or campus board?
@tenzinlee63935 жыл бұрын
This is sweet! Do you know of any hangboard routine that is designed for someone who will not have access to climbing for a while, like a month for instance?

Nice training video! Got me psyched to get back on the campus board! Looking forward to seeing more of these! Edit: Would you do this before/ after a bouldering session or as an individual workout? - Tom
@paulrobinson877 жыл бұрын
This would be its own workout. I would do a similar workout after climbing but it would be toned down as I know I would be tired from climbing.

Hi Paul, how long do you rest after an intense workout? Or more precisely do you rest until your completely recovered? Thanks for sharing your experience and giving a look into your training!
@paulrobinson877 жыл бұрын
do you mean until i actually go climbing again or until i do the next work out. sorry, just a bit confused and i want to answer your question correctly.
@karlkoch61167 жыл бұрын
I mean until the next workout. Because after an intense session with climbing and fingerboard/campusboard training I feel exhausted for at least 3 days. Or would you recommend to make less intense training more often? Puh, think I´m more nerdy than I thought. Thanks for your time!
@paulrobinson877 жыл бұрын
ah ok! that is what I had assumed. Yes, this would be a workout that I may do once or maybe 2 times a week at most. Resting after a day like this would be imperative. I tend to climb about 5 days a week and have been doing this for about 2 decades so I feel like my body is more used to these hard works on a more consistent basis. I do feel quite sore after these workouts so its important to take the time i need before doing another one like this. I think that there is a fine balance between doing too much in one workout which inherently will make you too tired later on in the week. If you are tired for 3 days after a workout, i would imagine you have done a bit too much. Tone it down a little so that you can only have to rest for 1/2 days at most in between training sessions. I hope this helps!

how min rest between series ?
@paulrobinson877 жыл бұрын
the rests will get longer the further into the workout you get. I like to rest only long enough until i know that i will complete the next exercise. The goal is to accomplish each exercise so that you can create a starting point and work up from there... e.g. do the workout faster and/or do harder/more reps on a given exercise.

Are the La Sportiva tarantulas good for beginner shoes for bouldering?
@paulrobinson875 жыл бұрын
Dusty Dolphin I would recommend the Evolv defy. I find them a better shoe for beginners and they last longer! evolvsports.com/defy-black/

Super cool! Careful with roll outs though, they put a lot of strain on your lower back and I've heard a few cases of people getting injured. From the knees is ok but I wouldn't push it or try to go from the feet. But you're the pro athlete not me, haha. Thanks for the vids!
