Some solid races there and important to compare with oregious years rather than where you want to be in a few months. Interested to see you taking a gel in Manchester. We'd more associated them with endurance sports. Is that a regular part of your race and training nutrition? Great content and we're learning a lot about the physical and mental side of your discipline.
@joeferguson2007 ай бұрын
100% it’s always good to look at the bigger picture. The gels I take are energy+caffeine and I find them easier to get down than food just 20-30mins before my warmup on race day. Thanks for the support!

I was looking to seeing this new video simce I saw you run in Ostrava on the telly. To be honest I got shocked by the guy in the outter lane running in 20:7 I was also expecting you to run under 21 but I guess the huge amount of trainning volume you have still to digest is no joke
@joeferguson2007 ай бұрын
Yeah I think I underestimated the difficulty of that track, it was a lot harder to control than what I thought before the race. Onwards and upwards🙏🏼
@SimonShawk57 ай бұрын
Awesome stuff man. Unfortunate how that 200 went, not that its slow in the slightest, but because you're clearly capable of smashing that time. I've been having issues with indoor curves myself... Tough times. Keep up the great work!

Any tips on running the bends ? I was told never to accelerate into the bend but out of it in the 200
@joeferguson2007 ай бұрын
If you’re asking about the indoor 200, I’d say driving up the hill coming into the bend is key to stop you from losing momentum, and then letting the downward hill take you and maintain your form. Outdoors id say generally to push hard for the first 60m at least.

Do you have a stretch routine you do? how do you keep consistantly loose and mobile?
@joeferguson2007 ай бұрын
It varies depending on what I’m trying to achieve at the time, personally for me I try to keep my ankles and lower back mobile to prevent any issues but also do some general maintenance mobility everywhere else

I'm turning 22. Is it too late to start sprinting (I like 60-100m). I love sports in general and I also like the sprinter physique but WITH ATHLETICISM

It’s absolutely never too late to start and you’re still young! With a couple years of training you can really surprise yourself, go for it!

What do you during those 15 min rest periods? I seen that some people walk around, put their legs up and do drills.
@joeferguson2007 ай бұрын
I generally take the first 10-12 minutes to sit down & recover then the last 3 minutes I get my legs moving again, do a couple of drills on the way back to the start line to make sure I’m primed to run fast again

I don't get it. In first competition 2 false starts and none of the fals starters DQ-ed. What rules are you running under?

The manchester race was a low-key open meet so I think the rules were more lenient

I ran high school and small college track as a sprinter decades ago. Joe is a lot faster than most can appreciate. He reminds me of the fastest guys who beat me that are really fast , but, need that extra little bit to make their Olympic teams . I will continue watching his videos and am pulling for him to make the UK team in 2024 .🎉

I know you're a long shot to make the UK Olympic team this summer, but I'm glad to see you going all out for it . You're faster than I ever was and I always regret packing it in after college at a young age . I find your training , commentary and variety of competitions to be an interesting and compelling story . In my humble observation, your start , drive stage and transition are excellent. However, I think you could be a bit.more relaxed from 50 to 80 m in the 100 m . Lol just my 2 cents and might not be worth listening to . All the best 🎉
