I was a resident of Indore from 2016-2022. The cleanliness and awareness is now instilled within each and every Indori. Initially it started with a good wastage disposal system, street garbage collection vehicles, segregation of dry, wet and hazardous waste and even catchy music. But what keeps the city constantly clean is now the public has become fully aware. Initially everybody needs a push, then it becomes a habit

Although Indore is the cleanest city of India but there are lot of congested areas and also lacking in infrastructure. I will always prefer living in Chandigarh over Indore. As I visited both the cities and I can say there is no match of Chandigarh city.

That's because Chandigarh was India's earliest well planned city so they had an advantage. Metropolitan cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad would be hard to manage and clean with such humongous population, it will take time.
