That last move she used against the Judo guy to throw him into the water looked like "Grasp the Sparrows Tail" technique of Taiji.

Kung fu figthers dont use tai chi to figth because IS not a sistem to figth. IS a part of kung fu but not a combat sistem. At least IS what i understond.

Hi man, don’t copy what she did. It won’t work in that way. It is only a drama. We may apply the techniques but not the moves during the real fight.
@vincerusselmorales30652 жыл бұрын
The advantage of Tai Chi are it balance both the Yin (soft & tranquil) and Yang (hard & aggressive) forces. When applying the Yin philosophy in Tai Chi, practioners uses the the soft and tranquil part where they will use the opponent's momentum and moves/strength and redirect it back against them. In Yang philosophy in Tai Chi, they will use the balance hardness and aggressive part of it by using the "one hit" rule to take down the opponent as fast as possible. Though it is very suitable against people with aggressive and violent martial art, the disadvantage of it is it takes a lot of self/emotional control to remain calm and focus throughout the battle, and once your focus and rhythm breaks, that's the time it will decline. It also sometimes quite weak against opponents who are skilled in joint locks if the practioner of Tai Chi is not that skilled or smart enough to free himself/herself from that move.
@chaausxentrus27772 жыл бұрын
When you said it is weak against joint locks, you mean weak against a wrestler because wrestling, even though it is a primarily offensive martial art, also emphasizes fluidity and softness utilizing the opponent's momentum against them and the greatest weakness of Tai Chi is facing another style that is not just as fluid but also emphasizes relentless fighting for a dominant position. Perfect example of escaping holds and locks using Wrestling is Tony Ferguson in his prime where he rolls out of his opponent's wrestling and grappling attacks using theit direction of force to free himself from their locks and reestablish dominant position. Ben Askren almost did it against Damien Maia's holds but was not fast enough. A skilled Tai Chi practitioner should be able to do the same as it has overlapping principles with Wrestling. After all, the soft or Yin component is universal but the Hard or Yan component's most crucial trait is having the fastest speed and reflexes in order to be a step ahead of the opponent who has equal Yin abilities, especially if the latter (the Wrestler) is twice the former's (Tai Chi practitioner's) size and strength.

@@rossanacubero40 tai chi is mostly used for exercise. It does have martial application, but these days it wouldn't really be useful by itself. It's redirection and blocking are nice, but striking is lacking, and it doesn't grapple much or even lock. Many pure martial arts are dying out because most have holes in them, which is why MMA is becoming so popular and is so strong. Take and use what works, discard what doesn't. That's going to be different for everyone though.

Tai Chi a martial art that focuses on balance and the subtle movements of every part of the body and visualization. An external practice when trained to the extreme will make the user aware of its body energy and move that energy at will. Of course now it’s only for health excercise 😅 the real use has been lost or burned down .

I can see why you think so. Piguaquan and Bajiquan are two styles of Kung Fu that are the polar opposites of each other but they can be used together to cover each other's weaknesses when used individually. But, i think the girl with the black outift only uses Tai Chi in conjunction with Bajiwian because the people from the Tai Chi Fighters' team was surprised to see her uses Bajiquan, so, she might've been one of them not that i know for sure.
