I love watching you rising through the ranks! With regards to the melting points, range is very strong on them. Tbh., in most cases, range is strong on everything.

General Tip: you should spend Turn 1 and 2 exclusively buying as much chaff as possible (crawlers and fangs), and arranging them so they enter Battle in several waves. As you said, whoever wins the chaff battle has a massive advantage. And this way you buy all your chaff at the beginning and can use your deployments in later rounds to buy actual combat units. You really don't want to waste a deployment slot in turn 6 on buying chaff when you could get something big instead.

I think arcs early are fine. It's hard to explain concepts like tempo to a new player, but "cheap board with chaff, chaff clear, and single target" is a perfectly fine rule of thumb that generally gives good results, you know? They get snowballed on a little less frequently than they would if they play insanely greedy by only buying chaff, and they'll likely end up with enough chaff regardless. And you wind up buying late chaff no matter what anyway to plug holes, protect new giants, and enable big tech rounds.

You’re doing great Indrid. I loved that strategy in your last game. Although I was wondering if they would hack your Rhinos again but this guy didn’t try that.

Homing missiles are good for hitting targets no one else can hit. Fx if all forward enemies are within 45m the missiles will hit backline.

When you deploy unit to flank, first round it teleports in starting with 0 health. That means it can die from basically anything hitting while it teleports in. Further rounds however it will be already there.

I've been watching Mechabellum @Indrid a bit and I just have to ask: the arenas are exactly the same (functionally). Introducing some terrain features could do wonders.

Regarding Items: Always take "intensive Training" if it's available, its possibly the best option there is. Giving an additional Level to a Unit of your choice every turn is a massive difference. That way you can even level a Unit twice in one turn.

@@Chromodar There's no room for nuance when giving advice to new players anyway lol. You just kind of have to give them advice that's sometimes wrong and let them discover when it is for themselves.

Indrid: try to deploy your chaf vertically. They get more effective at soaking.

Your phoenix wasp army would had been slaughtered if your foe had fortresses with anti air barrage. One of the best skills in the game. Along side one you passed up being the electromagnetic barrage. Both those are supplementary and clear respective chaff really quick while still dishing out their strong main attacks. You would have had even more success with your flame strike if you had put it horizontally then vertically and could have whiped all his mustangs + marksmen at once. I would limit the elite upgrade to 50pt upgrade units and only do AA on 2-3 unit types. Lots of good options if your AA needs are met. Rhino WW works well with the wreckage recycling abillity but I'd get that one first since so cheap.

This game got a huge flaw. And it is the fact that all unit fire at closest enemies. No point getting unit that is effective against enemy unit if enemy just puts meat shield in front of it.

That's kind of half the point of the game. Positioning matters a great deal. It's not just rock paper scissors. You're describing a feature.

This is the point, that unit behaviour is predictable. Meat shields are part of the balance; you're meant to invest in clearing them.
