Hi Great calculations but missed changing the polarities when opening the switch. although you shown negative numbers as inductors behave as a battery when disconnected. Am I right or wrong. Thank you

Hi, how would the equation look like if you model a resistor in series with the inductor (or modelling the wire resistance) ? thanks!

What if the circuit is inside a perfect vacuum (also a perfect insulator), will the spark jump across the vacuum?
@brogant67934 жыл бұрын
The spark can’t travel there’s nothing to ionise, it could possibly in air because it can ionise the air to create a pathway

I think i noticed an error. When you find the current through the inductor at 5:25 you said it has a current of 300A/s. Don't you mean 300A? A current is not the rate of current. Its actually the rate of change of charge isn't it, which is just measured in Amps.
@timmeh876 жыл бұрын
300 A/s is indeed the /rate of change/ of the current in the inductor, or the /slope/ of the line in the graph he drew. When dealing with insductors and capacitors it is important to understand their transient behavior. The rate of change in this scenario would depend on the inductance and resistance in the circuit. Using this information you can, for example, calculate how long it would take for the voltage to reach a certain value under transient conditions
