The cool thing about using this gear is you can make these songs all day! I can’t but you sound good man! Love what you do!
@nanomancer Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your support and encouragement, that's both a cool thing but sometimes also means that you do end up jamming the same loops all day long! 😀
@DielectricFailure Жыл бұрын
@@nanomancer When I make modern metal (not anything I put online) I often have a drum track I made and I’ll use it to create new guitar/bass riffs. The same drum pattern for maybe 5 songs but I add slightly different variations. I think sometimes you can create a part of a song that influences you multiple times. But I’ll try to change it slightly if I use it again. But I love these industrial songs you make. I’m trying to make industrial/EBM music on this channel and sometimes just cinematic types of 3D emotional music.

@nanomancer4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it would seem likely, I don't recall reading any of his novels. The inspiration behind it was apparently Roger Zelazny's Damnation Alley, pretty sure I've seen the movie of it too, George Peppard and the guy from Airwolf?!
@sanakassara4 жыл бұрын
@@nanomancer Jan-Michael Vincent. So that's why he was so familiar, though I entirely forgot that I had seen Airwolf. I also didn't watch Damnation Alley in full, it's on my to do list - thank you from Prime Video. The novel is one of my favourite sci-fi/speculative fiction novels. So is Hardwired. I also played the RPG back in a day.

Hey Mark, thanks for your support 🙂 As it happens I'm working on an idea for a video that requires your specialist skills, low budget but still need to get a few things together but would be really cool to do a collaboration in the near future if you're up for it, stay in touch and take care man!

lovin the ever present boss classic orange . sweet choice of gear sir . If you find a korg esx-1 cheap , trust me , snag that nonsense . would do well with the kinda tuneage you often do . limitations inspire creativity . IMHO it's worth it for the synth channels and the grainshifter/decimator fx in hardware mode .
@nanomancer4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the boss really brings a bit of grit to the Volca FM! I remember seeing some industrial synth jammers on youtube a few years back using the esx-1, actually was a bit of an inspiration for where I'm at right now.

@@kooocuro thanks, I'm trying to work on my live arrangements at the moment as I find it hard to keep track of everything sometimes - easy to leave a part running for too long while you're focussing on something else. I'm planning on doing these jams again as I try to improve so I'll keep this in mind next time I jam it out. Cheers!

Tight, gnarly, and insane!! I love how those stabs sounded like a trail of offspring left behind by those kicks. The textures complement each other well, at least that’s how I visualised it! And you just made me miss my monologue..I wanna jam properly soon! Thanks for this, J!
@nanomancer4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, really appreciate this comment. I was watching one of yours the other day and that inspired me to get set up for a recording. Still a bit on the 'long form' side, even with my timer going 😀 How is your new studio setup coming along?
@shaunlohjl4 жыл бұрын
@@nanomancer my wife is beginning to suspect I’m having an affair elsewhere because I haven’t been home lately, been spending nights there haha. It’s quite the way I wanted it, just that the other rooms in the apartment still require some work before we can officially move in. The vibe’s a little different here, can’t seem to make my old style of jams sound as groovy. Perhaps it’s time to explore new styles, am getting this hunch I should try to go for more industrial-like sounds, rumbles etc. Been out of touch, got to practise to catch up!
@shaunlohjl4 жыл бұрын
Well, I think 11min-ish is a good amount of time. If 7.5mins is a typical track length, a performance jam could use a few more minutes to build a story around it to make it more complete! I feel it’s good enough, the segments build up nicely and not too quickly, perfect!
@nanomancer4 жыл бұрын
Hehe, I see the logic, get the studio sorted first 😀 Always good to switch things up and try something new, also the vibe might just be missing the bustle of people living there, once you're settled you can relax into the jams a bit more perhaps!
