When is it better to use Ultra High Pressure over Abrasive Blasting?
Typically, the thicker the coating the more beneficial it is to use UHP water for removal of the coating.
By definition Ultra-High Pressure Water is water at 29,000 psi, that’s 2000 bar, and above.

UHP Water(36,000 -40,000psi) does not affect the structure of steel substrate and does not create a new or modify an existing profile. With very thin steel piping, (less than 3/64 of an inch) there is the potential that it could slightly 'peen' the surface. In summary, there is really no minimum wall thickness requirement for UHP water on steel piping.
