Als oude motor liefhebber(ex machinist). Wat loopt het mooi en ziet er perfect uit. Echt iets om trots op te zijn. Wat maakte wij in Nederland toch mooie motoren. Chapeau !!!!!

Fantastisch! Dank voor het filmen en het delen! Wat een juweeltje om te zien en te horen. Wat me ook opvalt is dat alles zo overzichtelijk geplaatst is. De leidingen lopen duidelijk en netjes. Het is gewoon mooi om te zien. Vergelijk dat maar eens met de huidige generatie snellopende scheepsdiesels... bah!

Idd, heb jaren met plezier gevaren/gevist met de 8 cilinder 1240pk bij 430 toeren, direct omkeerbaar. Dat lééft! En nu met die moderne dooie zogenaamd duurzame troep.

Als kleine jongen zag ik dit en in deze video beleef ik het terug, aan boord van de Nomadisch stond ook zo'n prachtige motor een 6D6 Industrie, dat liep zo mooi.....

Doet me denken aan de vele Smit-Lloyd schepen waar ik op gevaren heb als machinist. Die hadden wel een verstelbare schroef, dus stoppen-omkeren-starten was niet nodig. Interesante tijd, mooie machines. :-D

Klinkt mij als muziek in de oren. Mijn familie was ook fan van DE Industrie! De machinekamer van mijn oom in Novatie zag er ook uit ‘om door een ringetje te halen.’ Bedankt voor het delen. Van de Industrie van mijn opa zijn ook filmpje. Zie de mooie filmpjes van Wim de Waardt op dit kanaal!

The ship appears to be maneuvering, the engine stopping, shifting the camshaft, then restarting with the engine turning in opposite directions, with the final shot showing the engine at sustained speed. So maneuvering out of port I’d say. No better sound to lull a man to sleep than the rhythmic knocking and clicking of an old marine diesel.

Interesting as I thought that to move the camshaft along the valve train rocker arms would need to be raised so that the cam folloers could ride up onto the next cam. Are there ramps on the camshaft next to the cam to allow the ride up?

Great to see this engine... I had known a ship in my childhood days here in Guyana, named 'Three Brothers' but it was in the Dutch ( how do you write that in Dutch?) and my father told me that it had an 'Industrie' engine. So this is a first time for me seeing it in video. I wanted to see the name plate with the emblem... please if you have the chance to visit this engine again kindly remember to capture the name plate/emblem. Thanks and keep it up. 👍🇬🇾

Nope… ANY good engineer would try to keep his engineroom as clean as possible… Makes the job just soooo much easier. Unfortunately, there are quite a lot less good engineers.

@@rigididiot A friend of mine, his boss bought a used 49ft Defever cabin cruiser at a bargin price, but of course there was a catch. No real maintenance had been done for a decade or more and the entire engine room had never been cleaned. In fact that was what had brought it on the market, the Coast Guard had failed the boat and it couldn't be licensed, or insured or something to that nature. My buddy is a fastidious Motor-head and hates greasy engines. When the Coast Guard inspected it two years later when ideas back in the water, remarked they never saw private boats this clean and only a few commercial vessels. He remarked it makes everything else so much easier, an oil leak is spotted immediately, the reduction in fire danger is tremendous, plus as he said there's the aesthetics of a spotless clean machine.

Ship I am currently working on, when I signed on first, back in Jan '16 the ER was so dirty, we spent about 7 weeks 8 hours per day cleaning with 2 guys,, me and my assistant. Or in other words, the entire contract. Result was amongst others that we found and remedied over 20 not previously identified oil leaks on the engine and lots of other long neglected small deficiencies. Next contract we started painting and the 3rd contract we spent reorganizing the workshop and spareparts store... All in all a whole years work, and all the while we remained operational. Hell of a year but it paid off.
